THE PREVALENCE OF PROTEINURIA IN HYPERTENSION PATIENT AT RENAL OUTPATIENT DEPARTMENT RUMAH SAKIT UMUM PUSAT Dr HASSAN SADIKIN IN YEAR 2010.
ABSTRACT
High blood pressure, termed "hypertension," is a condition that afflicts
almost 1 billion people worldwide and is a leading cause of morbidity and
mortality. Estimated 600 million people affected worldwide. This disease is
usually asymptomatic until the damaging effects of hypertension (such as stroke,
myocardial infarction, renal dysfunction, etc.) are observed.
This research was conducted to find out about the prevalence of
proteinuria in hypertension patient. The method of this research was retrospective
descriptive. The source of this study was secondary data collected from medical
record of patients with hypertension at renal outpatient department Rumah Sakit
Umum Pusat Dr Hassan Sadikin Bandung from January 1st to December 31st
2010.
The numbers of hypertension patients in year 2010 were 2150 patients and
from that only 275 were selected for the research. From those 275 patients, 74
patients positive with proteinuria (26.9%) and majority 48 patients (16.70%) were
in stage 2 JNC 7. Meanwhile the other 28 patients (10.20%) are positive with
proteinuria is in stage 1 JNC 7. The more severe the hypertension was the more
likely proteinuria to develop. Other than that patient aged 50 to 59 years old
score highest percentage 9.8%. There was different percentage among male and
female patient which was 15.6% for female and male account for 11.3%. Most of
the patients came from Bandung and other West Java regions.
