LEMBAR PENJELASAN KEPADA CALON SUBJEK PENELITIAN
Selamat pagi/siang Bapak/Ibu, pada hari ini saya, dr. Hardi Edward
Sibagariang, peserta Pendidikan Pasca Sarjana Ilmu Penyakit Dalam / Magister
Klinik FK USU Medan akan melakukan penelitian yang berjudul ” Pengaruh
Pemberian Ekstrak Daun Puguntano (Curanga fel-terrae (Lour.) Merr.) Terhadap
Kadar Superoxide Dismutase Pada Penderita DM Tipe 2”. Penelitian ini bertujuan
melihat pengaruh puguntano sebagai suatu tanaman lokal dari masyarakat Dairi
yang telah dikenal dan diuji secara klinis dalam pengobatan diabetes melitus.
Dimana beberapa efek yang telah diketahui dari tanaman ini adalah memperbaiki
keadaan gula darah yang berlebihan pada penderita diabetes. Sedangkan
metformin adalah obat yang berfungsi memperbaiki kerja hormon insulin menjadi
lebih sensitif, dan telah digunakan sejak lama sebagai pengobatan diabetes.
Penelitian ini diharapkan bermanfaat bagi responden yaitu untuk memperbaiki
kontrol gula darah yang berlebihan dan stress oksidatif yang umum terjadi pasien
dengan diabetes melitus. Pada Bapak/Ibu yang bersedia mengikuti penelitian ini
nantinya akan diminta mengisi surat persetujuan ikut dalam penelitian, mengikuti
wawancara untuk mencari adanya hal-hal yang dapat menggangu penelitian,
dilakukan pengukuran tekanan darah (TD), berat badan (BB), tinggi badan (TB),
parameter kegemukan (IMT) ,pemeriksaan laboratorium awal berupa pemeriksaan
darah sebanyak 15 cc (1 sendok makan) yang akan diambil dari lengan oleh
ahlinya untuk menilai parameter darah rutin, fungsi hati, fungsi ginjal, kadar gula
darah puasa dan 2 jam sesudah makan, profil lemak dan superoxide dismutase.
Pemberian puguntano ini sendiri nantinya akan dilaksanakan selama 12 minggu
dengan dosis 3 x 100mg ( sehari) dan sebagian lagi akan mendapatkan metformin
3 x 500 mg (sehari). Di akhir minggu ke 12 nantinya akan dinilai kembali berat
badan, parameter kegemukan (IMT), lingkar perut, darah rutin, fungsi hati, fungsi
ginjal, kadar gula darah puasa dan 2 jam sesudah makan, profil lemak dan
superoxide dismutase untuk menilai efek dari pemberian puguntano dan
metformin yang telah Bapak/Ibu lakukan. Setelah hasil akhir diperoleh, nantinya
akan terlihat apakah terdapat pengaruh pemberian puguntano dalam hal
superoxide dismutase. Adapun resiko dalam penelitian ini seperti rasa tidak
nyaman di perut, gula darah turun melebihi dari yang diharapkan, maka apabila
selama dalam penelitian ini dijumpai efek samping pengobatan tersebut, peneliti
bertanggung jawab untuk memberi bantuan pengobatan. Segala biaya
pemeriksaan laboratorium dan penyediaan obat menjadi tanggung jawab peneliti.

LEMBAR PENJELASAN KEPADA CALON SUBJEK PENELITIAN
Selamat pagi/siang Bapak/Ibu, pada hari ini saya, dr. Hardi Edward
Sibagariang, peserta Pendidikan Pasca Sarjana Ilmu Penyakit Dalam / Magister
Klinik FK USU Medan akan melakukan penelitian yang berjudul ” Pengaruh
Pemberian Ekstrak Daun Puguntano (Curanga fel-terrae (Lour.) Merr.) Terhadap
Kadar Superoxide Dismutase Pada Penderita DM Tipe 2”. Penelitian ini bertujuan
melihat pengaruh puguntano sebagai suatu tanaman lokal dari masyarakat Dairi
yang telah dikenal dan diuji secara klinis dalam pengobatan diabetes melitus.
Dimana beberapa efek yang telah diketahui dari tanaman ini adalah memperbaiki
keadaan gula darah yang berlebihan pada penderita diabetes. Sedangkan
metformin adalah obat yang berfungsi memperbaiki kerja hormon insulin menjadi
lebih sensitif, dan telah digunakan sejak lama sebagai pengobatan diabetes.
Penelitian ini diharapkan bermanfaat bagi responden yaitu untuk memperbaiki
kontrol gula darah yang berlebihan dan stress oksidatif yang umum terjadi pasien
dengan diabetes melitus. Pada Bapak/Ibu yang bersedia mengikuti penelitian ini
nantinya akan diminta mengisi surat persetujuan ikut dalam penelitian, mengikuti
wawancara untuk mencari adanya hal-hal yang dapat menggangu penelitian,
dilakukan pengukuran tekanan darah (TD), berat badan (BB), tinggi badan (TB),
parameter kegemukan (IMT) ,pemeriksaan laboratorium awal berupa pemeriksaan
darah sebanyak 15 cc (1 sendok makan) yang akan diambil dari lengan oleh
ahlinya untuk menilai parameter darah rutin, fungsi hati, fungsi ginjal, kadar gula
darah puasa dan 2 jam sesudah makan, profil lemak dan superoxide dismutase.
Pemberian puguntano ini sendiri nantinya akan dilaksanakan selama 12 minggu
dengan dosis 3 x 100mg ( sehari) dan sebagian lagi akan mendapatkan metformin
3 x 500 mg (sehari). Di akhir minggu ke 12 nantinya akan dinilai kembali berat
badan, parameter kegemukan (IMT), lingkar perut, darah rutin, fungsi hati, fungsi
ginjal, kadar gula darah puasa dan 2 jam sesudah makan, profil lemak dan
superoxide dismutase untuk menilai efek dari pemberian puguntano dan
metformin yang telah Bapak/Ibu lakukan. Setelah hasil akhir diperoleh, nantinya
akan terlihat apakah terdapat pengaruh pemberian puguntano dalam hal
superoxide dismutase. Adapun resiko dalam penelitian ini seperti rasa tidak
nyaman di perut, gula darah turun melebihi dari yang diharapkan, maka apabila
selama dalam penelitian ini dijumpai efek samping pengobatan tersebut, peneliti
bertanggung jawab untuk memberi bantuan pengobatan. Segala biaya
pemeriksaan laboratorium dan penyediaan obat menjadi tanggung jawab peneliti.
