Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif. Faktor-faktor yang
mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa untuk bekerja di bank syariah adalah nilai
religius, pertimbangan pasar kerja, penghargaan finansial, dan keluarga dan
teman. Sampel penelitian yang digunakan adalah sebanyak 100 mahasiswa
fakultas ekonomi tingkat senior minimal semester V dari empat universitas di
Kota Medan, yaitu Universitas Sumatera Utara, Universitas Negeri Medan,
Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara dan Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera
Utara dengan menggunakan proportionate stratified random sampling. Analisis
data pada penelitian ini menggunakan aplikasi SPSS versi 17.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai religius, pertimbangan pasar
kerja dan keluarga dan teman berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat
mahasiswa untuk bekerja di bank syariah dengan tingkat kepercayaan 90%.
Sedangkan pada variabel penghargaan finansial berpengaruh positif tetapi tidak
signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa untuk bekerja di bank syariah. Variabel

pertimbangan pasar kerja merupakan variabel yang paling mempengaruhi minat
mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi di Kota Medan untuk bekerja di bank syariah.

ABSTRACT

This research aims to determine the factors that affect the interest of
students to work in the Islamic Banks.
This research is a descriptive quantitative. Factors that affect the interest
of students to work in Islamic banks are religious values, consideration of the
labour market, financial rewards, and family and friends. Samples that are used
in this study are 100 senior students of faculty of economics who are at least on
their fifth semester involving four universities in the city of Medan, those are
University of Sumatera Utara, State University of Medan, Islamic University of
Sumatera Utara and Muhammadiyah University of Sumatera Utara using
proportionate stratified random sampling. This research is using SPSS 17 to

analyze the data.
The results showed that the value of religious, consideration of the labour
market, and family and friends a positive and significant effect on the interest of
students to work in Islamic banks with a confidence level of 90%. While the
financial award variable showed positive effect but not significantly on the
interest of students to work in Islamic banks. The variable of the job market
consideration is the variable that is the most effective for the faculty of economic
students interest in the city of Medan to work in Islamic Banks.
