LETTER OF INTENT
BETWEEN
THE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC HOUSING OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
AND
.
THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN

The Ministry of Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia and The Ministry of
Housing and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran , hereinafter
referred to as "the Parties";
Noting the excellent relations and existing cooperation between the two countries;
Desiring to intensify dialogue and bilateral cooperation between the Parties based
on the principles of equality, reciprocity and mutual benefit;
Desiring to expand and to intensify mutually beneficial cooperation to promote
scientific, technical and economic cooperation in the fields of Housing and Human
Settlement development by involving related stakeholders;
Pursuant to the prevailing laws and regulations in their respective countries;
Do hereby declare the Parties intention to conclude a Memorandum of
Understanding on Technical Cooperation on Housing and Human Settlement
Development as a basis for further cooperation between the Parties, in the

following fields:
1. Disaster adaptation and mitigation to natural disaster risk on housing ,
settlement and urban areas as the realization of Working Group on
Development of Sustainable Urbaniz ation with a focus on Natural Disasters of
Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Housing · and Urban Development
(APMCHUD);
2. Slum upgrading program including urban slum - squatter improvement and
rural housing improvement, as the realization of the Working Group on Urban
Slums Upgrading of Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Housing and Urban
Development (APMCHUD);
3. New Town development program;
4. Sustainable Development;
5. Other areas agreed upon by the Parties.
The implementation of such cooperation shall be concluded in appropriate
measures in due course;
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned have signed this Letter of Intent;
DONE in duplicate at Jakarta on August 6, 2009 in English language, both texts being
equally authentic.
