JOINT STATEMENT
BETWEEN
THE MINISTRY OF ENERGY AND MINERAL RESOURCES OF
THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
AND
THE MINISTRY OF COMMERCE, INDUSTRY AND ENERGY OF
THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA
ONTHEESTABLISHMENTOFTHEENERGYFORUM
The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea and the
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia recognized
that cooperation, particularly in the energy field. along with their bilateral
partnership, is strategically important and beneficial to the relationship between the
two countries, and confirmed their strong intention to develop a creative
partnership in this area. They also expressed their firm belief that further
cooperation in the energy field at both the related authority and business levels
between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Indonesia would be mutually
beneficial for both countries, and shared the recognition that there is potential for
the related authorities of the two countries to expand cooperation in the energy
area. They discussed and confirmed the following points:
1. The two ministers expressed the importance of empowering discussion through
energy forum with the purpose :
a. To discuss actively and exchange views on energy policies of both countries
so as to enhance mutual understandings.
b. To explore how to-strengthen cooperation between the two countries in
energy sector, so as to make relevant recommendations to the respective
ﾷ ｾ＠
Governments.
c. To support and promote state owned and private enterprises of both
countries to carry out cooperation of modes in the energy sector.
d. To exchange information of cooperation in energy sector and coordinate in
resolving problem arising from such cooperation .
e. To review the implementation of the existing and future agreements
between both countries.
f.
To identify other possible fields of cooperation mutually agreed upon by
both countries.
2. The energy forum will be hosted by the Minister or the Representative
authorized by the Minister of the respective executive bodies in both countries
alternatively and on the date mutually agreed; and the agenda will be prediscussed and agreed.
3. Based on the agenda, relevant experts, representatives of enterprises and
representatives of government departments from both countries will be invited
to participate in such energy forum.
4. Each country shall bear its own travel and accommodation costs incurred in
participating in activities of such energy forum, and the expenses of the energy
forum shall be born by the hosting country.
Both ministers share the basic recognition that it is necessary to maintain the close
relationship and make further implementation arrangement.

The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea and the
