Yang Mempengaruhi Permintaan Cabai Merah di Provinsi Sumatera Utara.
Penelitian ini dibimbing oleh Bapak Dr. Ir. Rahmanta Ginting, M.Si. selaku
Ketua Komisi Pembimbing dan Ibu Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, MS selaku Anggota
Komisi Pembimbing.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor – faktor yang
mempengaruhi permintaan cabai merah di Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Penelitian
ini menggunakan data permintaan cabai merah di Provinsi Sumatera Utara dari
tahun 2006 sampai dengan tahun 2015 menggunakan data triwulan. Metode
penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis linier berganda. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan permintaan cabai merah di Provinsi Sumatera Utara secara
serempak dipengaruhi oleh harga cabai merah, harga cabai rawit, jumlah
penduduk dan pendapatan. Permintaan cabai merah secara parsial dipengaruhi
oleh harga cabai merah, jumlah penduduk, dan pendapatan. Elastisitas harga
cabai merah adalah inelastis dan bertanda negatif. Elastisitas silang harga cabai
rawit adalah inelastis dan bertanda negatif. Elastisitas pendapatan adalah elastis
dan bertanda positif.

ABSTRACT

Vania Indriyani (130304117) with the thesis entitled An Analysis on the
Factors which Influence the Demand for Red Chilli in North Sumatera
Province. The research was supervised by Dr. Ir. Rahmanta Ginting, M.Si as
the Chairperson of the Supervisory Committee and Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, MS as
the Member.
The objective of this research was to analyze some factors which influenced the
demand for red chilli in North Sumatera Province. The research used the data of
the demand for red chilli in North Sumatera Province in the period of 2006-2015,
using quarter of a year data which were analyzed by using multiple linear
regression analysis. The result of the research showed that the demand for red
chilli in North Sumatera Province, simultaneously, was influenced by the price of
red chilli, the price of small chilli, the population, and income. The demand for
red chilli partially was influenced by the price of red chilli, the population, and
income. The price of red chilli was inelastic and tended to be negative. The

income was elastic and tended to be positive.
