ABSTRAK

Telah dilakukan studi pengamatan lama waktu penimbunan CPO terhadap kadar asam
lemak bebas pada storage tank dan kadar air pada vct tank,oil tank,fatfit tank di pabrik kelapa
sawit PTPN III Sei Silau. Pengamatan dilakukan langsung di Laboratorium dengan
menganalisis contoh minyak sawit mentah (CPO) pada tangki timbun dan mengambil
beberapa parameter mutu sebagai objek untuk dianalisa yaitu kadar asam lemak bebaskadar
asam lemak bebas pada storage tank dan kadar air pada vct tank,oil tank,fatfit tank. Kadar
ALB diukur dengan menggunakan metode titrasi asam basa, sedangkan kadar air ditentukan
dengan menggunakan metode gravimetri. Hasil analisa yang diperoleh untuk kadar ALB
tertinggi sebesar 5,14%(pada hari ke-5). Untuk kadar air tertinggi pada vct tank 0,96% (pada
hari ke-5) kadar air tertinggi pada oil tank 0,73% (pada hari ke-5). Untuk fat-fit tank tertinggi
sebesar 0,61% (pada hari ke-5) Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi
penurunan mutu minyak sawit yaitu kualitas buah yang diolah, sistem pencampuran produksi
harian, serta temperatur tangki.

ABSTRACT

Observational studies have been done a long time accumulation of CPO against free fatty
acid levels in the storage tanks and the water content in the VCT tanks, oil tanks, tank fatfit in
palm oil mills PTPN III Sei glare. Observations were made directly in the laboratory to
analyze samples of crude palm oil (CPO) in the storage tank and take some quality
parameters as objects to be analyzed, namely fatty acid levels bebaskadar free fatty acids in
the storage tank and the water content in the VCT tanks, oil tanks, fatfit tank. ALB levels
were measured using acid-base titration method, while the water content was determined
using gravimetric methods. The analysis results obtained for ALB highest levels by 5.14%
(on day 5). For the highest water levels in tanks VCT 0.96% (on day 5) the highest water

content in the oil tank 0.73% (on day 5). Fat-fit tank to a high of 0.61% (on day 5) It is
caused by several factors influencing the decline in palm oil quality is the quality of the fruit
is processed, mixing system daily production, as well as the temperature of the tank.
