TRADE AGlillE:HENT DETWEEN TIIE GOVERNMENT
OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA AND THE GOVEH.NtlENT OF

THE HUNGARIAN PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC

The Government of the llepublic of Indonesia and the
Government of the Hungarian People's Republic
- hereinafter referred to as the Contracting Parties being desirous to promote trade relations between the
Republic of Indonesia and the Hungarian People's Republic, based on the principles of equality ancl. mutual benefit, have agreed as follows:

ARTICIB I.
Trade between the tuo countries shall be effected
within the framework of the rights and obligations
arising from their participation as Contracting Parties to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
AllTICLE II.
The Contracting Parties shall , subject to their
respective import, export and foreign exchange rules
and regulations and other laws in force, provide the
maximum facilities possible for the purpose of increasing the volume of tracl.e between the two countries .

AHTICLE III.
The import and export of the goods/commodities will
be carried out in accordance with the laws and rules in force in either country effecting the export ,
import and foreign exchange and on the basis of commercial transactions concluded betueen the Indonesian licenced import and export enterprises, on one
side, and the Hungarian foreign trade organizations,
on the other .
AUTICLE IV.
Each Contracting Party shall exempt from customs duties and other fiscal charges the following goods
originating in the country of the other party:
a. Catalogues , brochures and other advertising niaterial, including films on goods offered for
sale in the market of the importing party, except
wbere other prevailing rules anu regulations dictate otherwise.
b. Conunercial samples 1-,ri tbout value, not intended for
sale.
c. Goods and materials for temporary fairs and exhibitions, not intended for sale and to be reexported
within a reasonable time.
d. Goods sent for repair, improvement or processing

to be returned on completion of such work - to
the extent of their original value, however,
duties will be levied on the value of new spareparts or coc.ponents plus freight, replacing the
original ones.
AllTICLE V.
In all matters of navigation tl1e Contracting Parties
shall accord to each other エイ・。セョ@
no less favourable than that accorded by their respective laws,
rules and regulations to the vessels under the flag
of any third country.
The above provision

docs not apply to coastal trade.
AllTICLE VI .

Doth Contracting Parties agree that all payments arising from trade between the two countries shall be
effected in any freely convertilJle currency.
AUTICIE VII.
Doth Contracting Parties shall permit the organization of permanent or temporary fairs, exhibitions

and trade centres by the other Party and shall extend
to it, subject to their laws and regulations in force,
generally all facilities for organizing such fairs,
exhibitions and trade centres.

AHTICIB VIII.

In order to facilitate the implementation of the
present Agreement, both Contracting Parties agree
to consult each other in respect of any question
in connection with the trade between the two
countries.
For this purpose a consultative meeting attended
by representatives of both Parties may be held,
upon the request of either of them, within a convenient term agreed upon, but not later than three
months.
AUTICLE DC

Transactions entered into during the valiuity of
the present Agreeoent and not executed by the date of its expiry shall be fulfilled in accordance

with the provisions of the present Agreement.
AilTICIB X.

The present Agreement shall come into force on the
day of exchange of notes confirning the approval
or ratification by both Contracting Parties, in
accordance with the laws and rules prevailing in
each of the two countries.
AUTICIB XI.

The present Agreement shall remain in force for a

period of one year. Unless either Contracting Party
has notified the other in 1rri ting of its intention
to terminate the present .Agreecent ninety clays prior
to the expiration of the aforesaid period of one
year , it shall be considered as automatically extended for another year and thereafter, subject to the
same procedure with respect to its termination, :for

further successive periods of one year each .
ARTICLE XII .
The present Agreement shall replace the Trade Agreement between the Republic of Indonesia and the Hungarian People's Hepublic signed on the 15th April, 1965.

In witness whereof tlle undersigned, duly authorized by their respective Gover:nnents have signed this
Agreement.
Done and signed in Budapest, on the 16th December,
