Karakteristik Penderita Retinopati Hipertensi yang Datang berobat ke Poliklinik Mata RSUP H. Adam Malik Periode Januari 2012 – Mei 2013
ABSTRAK
Hipertensi merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat yang penting dan
semakin meningkat. Progresi hipertensi yang terjadi menyebabkan kerusakan
target organ, diantaranya mata. Retinopati hipertensi sebagai salah satu
komplikasi hipertensi pada mata, dapat memprediksi mortalitas pada pasien
hipertensi.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik penderita
retinopati hipertensi yang datang berobat ke Poliklinik Mata RSUP H. Adam
Malik, Medan periode Januari 2012 – Mei 2013. Jenis penelitian ini adalah
deskriptif dengan desain penelitian retrospektif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan
dengan menggunakan data sekunder penderita Retinopati hipertensi yang tercatat
dalam rekam medik di RSUP H. Adam Malik pada periode Januari 2012 – Mei
2013. Data yang sudah terkumpul akan diolah dengan program komputerisasi dan
dianalisa secara deskriptif dengan menggunakan tabel distribusi menurut usia,
jenis kelamin, pekerjaan, tekanan darah, dan lama menderita hipertensi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik penderita retinopati hipertensi
yang berobat ke Poliklinik Mata RSUP H. Adam Malik, Medan periode Januari
2012 – Mei 2013 sebagian besar adalah perempuan dengan kelompok usia 45 – 64
tahun dan tidak bekerja. Sebagian besar penderita memilki tekanan darah sistolik
160 – 179 mmHg, tekanan darah diastolik 80 – 89 mmHg dan memiliki riwayat
hipertensi 5 – 10 tahun.
Bagi peneliti selanjutnya, lokasi penelitian sebaiknya diperluas dan sampel
yang diambil lebih banyak sehingga data yang diperoleh semakin akurat untuk
melihat karakteristik retinopati hipertensi.

Hypertension is an important and progressive public health problem.
Progression of hypertension that occurs causes damage to the target organs,
including the eyes. Hypertensive retinopathy as a complication of hypertension in
the eye which can predict mortality in hypertensive patient.
This study aims to investigate the characteristics of patients with
hypertensive retinopathy who went for treatment at the Eye Polyclinic in Hospital
Haji Adam Malik, Medan from January 2012 until Mei 2013. This is a descriptive
study with retrospective design. The sample was taken using secondary data of the
hypertensive retinopathy patients, recorded in the medical record at Hospital H.
Adam Malik in the period January 2012 - May 2013. The data that have been
collected are processed by a computerized program and analyzed descriptively
using distribution tables according to age, sex, occupation, blood pressure, and
duration of hypertension.
The results of this study showed that the characteristics of patients with
hypertensive retinopathy who went for treatment to the Eye Polyclinic in Hospital
Haji Adam Malik, Medan mainly women with age group 45-64 years and who are
not working. Most patients had systolic blood pressure of 160-179 mm Hg,
diastolic blood pressure of 80-89 mmHg and a history of hypertension 5-10 years.
Suggestion to the other researchers, study sites should be expanded and
more samples should be taken so that the data obtained will be more accurate to
study the characteristics of hypertensive retinopathy.
