REPUBLIK INDONESIA

ARRANGEMENT
BETWEEN
The DIRECTORATE GENERAL of POSTS and
TELECOMMUNICATIONS,
MINISTRY of COMMUNICATION and INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
of the REPUBLIC of INDONESIA

and
The POST COMPANY of the ISLAMIC REPUBLIC of IRAN
CONCERNING JOINT ISSUE of STAMPS

Communication and Information Tech nology of the Repub lic of Indonesia
(here inafter refe rred to as " Indonesia n Party") and The Post Company of the
Islamic Republic of 11an (hereinafter referred to as "Iranian Party'') collectively
here1natter referred to as "both Parties .
Desiri ng to strengthen the friendly relation between the people of Indonesia and

Iran,
Taking into Acc ount to Agreed Mmu tes of the Tenth Session of the Joint
Commission on Economic and Trade Cooperation between the Governm ent of the
Repub lic of Indonesia and the Governrn en t of t he Islamic Repub lic of Iran, signed
at Jakarta on June 11, 2008;
Pursuant to the prevailing laws and regulations in thei r respective co untries:
have agreed an A rrangement as follows:

Artic le I
Both Parties have agreed to jointly issue a set of special stamps featu ring
"Mosque" on December 181h 2009 in Indonesia and on December 23rd in Iran .

Arti cle II
In order to ensure the smootr issuance of the stamps, th e following Arrar.gernent
has hereby been worked out.
a. Stamp Size and Subject
fhe size of the stamps for Indonesian µa rty is 28.0 - 30.0 mm x 38.5 - 40.0 mm.
for Ira nian Party is 33/5 in 46 mm includ ing the frame of a stamp. The stamps will
be devoted to photog raphic images of Soltan rah Mosque of Iran and the other will
be devoted to Indonesia bearing tne r hotogrnp hic image of Al Markash .


b. Stamp Desig ns and Manufacturing
1. As to the stamp designs, both Parties have taken relevant procedures. Both
Parties agreed to choose the above-mentioned draft designs.
2. Both Parties should finish the final designs respectively and exchange the
final artworks and relevant background materials by November 161h 2009 .
3. Each Party should be responsible for its own designs of the lay out, text,
and denomination of the stamps as we ll as for printing its own stamps.
4. Each Party should print the phrase "Joint Issue of Stamps between
Indonesia and Iran for Indonesian side and "Joint Issue of Stamps between
Iran and Indonesia" for Iranian side.
5. Each Pariy should be respon sible for gain ing the copyright of the original
stamp designs respectively and authorize the other Party to use the designs
gratuitously for printing stamps. T he stamp designs can not be used for any
product other than philatelic items without the agreement reached by both
Parties.
c. Denomination of Stamps
The denomination of the joint issue of stamps shall be equal to the rate of 20
grams of domestic and international standard letter with in both Parties for reg ular
postal comm unication .

d. Press Annou ncement and Prom otion
After signing the Arrangement, both Parties will publish a news release on the joint
issue of stamps according to its own practice. Each Party will inform the other Party
of the date for the news release 30 days in advance
e. First-Day Issue Ceremony
1. Both Pa rties agreed that Indones ian Party will issue the joint stamp series
on December 18th 2009 and Irania n party wi ll issue on December 23rd 200 9.
2. !"he First-Day Ceremony will be presented by the embassy of each Party
3. In case of exchanging personal to take part in the first ceremony of the other
party , each party should bear the international transportation , board and
lodging costs for its own delegation, whi le the host party shou ld provide the
loca l transportation cost for the visiting delegation during their visit.

Exchange of Sta mps
1 Both Parties should receive 1.000 (one thousands) sets of stamps printed by
the other party one month prior to the date of issuance regardless of the
denomination and mutual settlement.
2 Tra nsportation charge for sending the stamps should be borne by the

sending Party and if there is any other relevant cost occurred in the
destination country, it should be borne by the receiving Party
3. These stamps are dedicated to documenting and producing commemorative
philatelic items for officia l activit1L, such as the First-Day Issue Ceremony
4. No ci rculation of such stamps sl"lould be made before the issuance date of
stamps in each country.

Artic le Ill
Any differences arising out of the interpretation and/or implementation of this
Arrangement shall be settled amicably through consultation and/or negotiations
between both Parties.
Article IV
a . Any amendments to th is Arrangem ent shall only be made after consultation
and by mutual written consent of both Parties.
b.

In orde r to expedite the relevant procedu re, the fo llowing contact points are
introduced. Any changes in this regard should be reported to the other side
within 10 days.

ArHcle V
1. Tli is Arrangement shall enter into force on the date of its sign ing.
2. Th is Arrangement shall terminate after the co mpletion of the cooperation
unless otherwise decided by both Parties.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned, have signed this Arrangement.
DONE in two original copies in Tehran, Iran on October 25th, 2009 in English. Both
texts being equa lly authentic.
