1. The Steps of Theme Analysis
The identification of a work of fiction is attempting to formulate in our words the statement about life or human experience that is made by the total work.
And, the identification of theme is a way to validate our understanding, to focus our response, and to make the work finally and fully our own. The following
suggestions and comments, however, may prove helpful to identify of theme: a.

American Idiot is a song by American punk rock band Green Day, and
is the first single from their seventh album, American Idiot. This song is composed by Billy Joe Armstrong who contributes in this band as the vocalist.
Since American Idiot is a concept album, all songs are parts of the story and American Idiot is not an exception. The song is basically a summary or a little
preview of the story in the album which is the story of Jesus of Suburbia, a young man who, tired of his life in his hometown, decides to escape and heads for the
city. It talks about the vegetable-like state of mind of many Americans who criticize the policy of the US Government, the Iraq War, the struggle for the rights
of the homosexuals, the propaganda on TV and the lack of individuality in Americans as well, along with many other political and social subjects, all from
