I. Competence Standard :
On completing the course the students are able to 1 improve their reading comprehension
ability previewing, predicting, skimming and scanning, 2 improve their speed in reading,
3develop their vocabularies, 4 develop oral reading skills by reading aloud with correct
pronunciation.
II. Basic Competence :
Students are able to improve their reading skills, get the details of the story, extend the
vocabulary mastery and read aloud the texts with correct pronunciation.

1. Students are able to mention the main idea by skimming the text.

5. Students are able to state whether or not the given statements are true.
6. Students are able to read loudly and fluently with correct pronunciation.
