Latarbelakang: Vitamin D memiliki peranan pada sistem imun, dimana vitamin D
berperan menghambat proliferasi limfosit B dan memodulasi respons imun humoral
sehingga sekresi imunoglobulin berkurang.

tinggi nilai indeks SCORAD maka semakin rendah kadar serum 25-hydroxyvitamin-D
(p=0.01).

Background: Vitamin D plays an important role in immune system, where vitamin D
inhibits B lymphosite proliferation and modulates humoral immunity response to
suppressed IgE production. Recent studies about correlation between serum 25hydroxyvitamin-D level and severity of atopic dermatitis in several countries had shown

varying result.
Objective: To determind the correlation between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin-D level and
the scoring of atopic dermatitis index in children.
Methods: A cross sectional study was conduct among 26 children with atopic
dermatitis from September 2015 until December 2015. We evaluated the severity of
disease using the Scoring of Atopic Dermatitis ( SCORAD ) index. The serum 25hydroxyvitamin-D level was obtained from laboratory. Spearman test was used to
analyse the correlation between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin-D level and the scoring of
atopic dermatitis in children with atopic dermatitis.
Results: Mean (SD) of the SCORAD Index was 32.0 (14.99) , with the lowest score
10.9 and the higher score 71.4 . Mean (SD) of the serum 25-hydroxyvitamin-D level
was 41,06 ± 24.81, with the lowest level 10 and the higher level 137. There was a
moderate correlation between the serum 25-hydroxyvitamin-D level and the SCORAD
Index (r =-0.591) with the higher SCORAD index the lower serum 25-hydroxyvitamin-D
level (p=0.01)
Conclusion: There was a moderate correlation between the serum 25-hydroxyvitaminD level and the SCORAD Index in children with atopic dermatitis.
