Museum Ullen Sentalu

Javanese known as the culture and art region, because it has so many relics there. One
of the most popular relics in Javanese is from era of ancient Mataram. The relics are gamelan,
batik, paint, statue, photos and etc. It’s so interesting right? Do you want to know more? So,
you just need to go to Museum Ullen Sentalu. I think, it’s a great museum because it has
unique building, peaceful atmosphere and mysterious instrument.
Museum Ullen Sentalu’s building will bring you back to the past, because it’s
designed like a castle. The basement building is unique, because the door of the basement is
big and old door. It made from old wood. The wall and the stair of the basement made from
stone. There a vine on wall and some relics like mask and photos on it. It’s like an old castle
with some decors. The combination of big and old wood doors and stone wall with vines
looks great and nature like ancient Mataram. So, it makes Museum Ullen Sentalu like a king
castle especially the Javanese castle. In the basement, there are so many kind of relics, such
as gamelan, traditional weapon, statue and etc. All of the relics are from ancient Mataram.
In Museum Ullen Sentalu there are some labyrinth “floating” on the water and garden
that makes the atmosphere more peaceful. The labyrinth “floating” on the water means that
the labyrinth is planted in the middle of the fish pound. So, it’s not truly floating on the water.
In there, you will fell the truly nature, hear the voice of flying bird, frog and another animal.
Sometimes, you will smell incense in some place in Museum Ullen Sentalu that has historical
relics. Incense means to give “thanks” to the God. The smell of incense usually called as
aromatherapy. So, it can make your body relax and feels better.
Mysterious instrument is coming from the sound of gamelan. Gamelan is a traditional
musical instrument from Java. Gamelan in Museum Ullen Sentalu is given from a prince of
Yogyakarta Kingdom. You will hear the sound of gamelan when you arrive at the entrance
gate or first room. When you hear that sound, it feels like you are welcomed like a special
guest, because gamelan in java means to welcome a king, for traditional dance and for a
mystical event.
Beside all of 3 efforts above, Museum Ullen Sentalu has nine room. There are
welcome room for welcoming guest; dance art and gamelan room that displays some mask
and gamelan; Kampung Kambang Area that the buiding build on the water like the labyrinth;
Royal Ratu Mas that displays the painting and photographs of Ratu Mas; batik room that
displays some collection of motive batik; Putri Dambaan Room that displays live album of
Gray Siti Nurul Kamaril Ngarasati Kusumawardhani Soerjosoejarso; Retja Landa Corridor,
it’s a garden; Sasana Sekar Bawana that displays painting and statue, in there you will see
Paes Ageng painting and Paes Ageng wedding dress from the palace; and the last is Bale
Nitik Rengganis room, this room is used to take a break and enjoy a special drink. The taste
of the drink is like ginger with other ingredient. They said that it was healthy for your body.
Museum Ullen Sentalu is also known as one of the best museum in the world. It’s
very iconic with Java culture especially ancient Mataram. It located at near mount Merapi,
Kaliurang Highland. In this museum displays some collection relating to the civilization of
