PROTOCOL TO AMEND MEMORAN DUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN
THE MINI STRY OF TRADE OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
AND
THE MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE OF
THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM
ON RIC E TRADE
The Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Industry and
Trade of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (hereinafter referred to as Party or
collectively as Parties);
RECALLING the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Trade of the
Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic
of Viet Nam on Rice Trade signed in Ho Chi Minh City on the 25th April 2009
(hereinafter referred to as the MoU);
CONFIRMING the Parties' intention to amend the MoU as communicated through the
letter of the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia no . 1146/M-DAG/SD/8/2011
dated
3rd
August 2011 regarding amendment of the MoU on Rice Trade between
Indonesia and Viet Nam and the letter of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the
Socialist Republic of Viet Nam No. 694/KV1/2011 dated 8th September 2011;
AFFIRMING that according to Article 5 of the MoU, either Party may request in writing
for any amendment of the MoU;
PU RS UANT to prevailing laws and regulations of the respective countries;
HAVE AGREED to amend the Article 1 of the MoU as follows:
ARTICLE 1
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam agrees to sell
and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia agrees to buy up to 1,500,000
metric tons of Vietnamese white rice annually from year 2011 to 2012 subject to the
production situation in both countries and the level of international price.
ARTICLE 2
This Protocol supplements and shall form an integral part of the MoU .
ARTICLE 3
This Protocol shall enter into force on the date of its signing .
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned have signed this Protocol.
