LETTER OF INTENT
BETWEEN
THE STATE MINISTRY OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT OF
THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
AND
THE MINISTRY OF WOMEN AFFAIRS, GENDER AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT OF
THE REPUBLIC OF ZIMBABWE
CONCERNING
THE ESTABLJSHMENT OF
WOMEN'S AFFAIRS COOPERATION

The State Ministry for Women Empowerment of the Republic of Indonesia and The
Ministry of Women Affajrs, Gender and Communhy Development of the Republic of
Zimbabwe. hereinafter reterred to as "the Parties",

Desiring to strengthen the existing friendly relations and promote goodwill and
understanding as well as favourable co-operation between the two countries in the field
of women's affairs;
Acknowledging that cooperation on women affairs wilJ bring further mutual benefit for
the development of women roles in both countries;

Realizing that cooperation between both parties on women affairs will contribute to the
improvement and betterment of women's Lives in both countries;
Recognizing the importance of the principles of sovereignty, equality and mutual
benefits;
Do hereby declare their intention to establish a Memorandum of Understanding on
Women Affairs Cooperation in the following fields:

Strengthening capacity of women in economics
Exchange of information. knowledge, skills and technology in promoting
women participation in national development
Cooperation in Capacity Building, inc.4!ding Joint Vocational Training on
Gender Equ!_iity
Enhance patJ:icipation of women in politics and decision making
Promoting exchange visits of officials and ･ｾｰｲｴｳ＠
Prevention of violence against women and children
HlV/AlDS education and prevention programs

Prevention of trafficking in person(s), especially women and children
Any other areas which may be agreed upon by the Parties.

The Parties agree that this document serves as the initial step with a view to establishing a
formal cooperation leading to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
on Women Affairs Co-operation between The State Ministry for Women Empowerment
of the Republic of Indonesia and The Ministry of Women Affairs, Gender and
Community Development of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

Done at Harare, Zimbabwe on the day
and six in the English language.
