Abstract
Science and technology which is rapidly developing requires educational
institution has to change its system in order to create individuals who are capable
of competing and performing in their fields. Self-efficacy is an individual
confidence in his capacity in carrying out his task or action which plays an
important role in his achievement. The objective of the research was to find out
the correlation of self-efficacy and learning performance in the students of the
Nursing Study Program in the learning process of competence-based curriculum

at the Faculty of Nursing, USu. The research used descriptive correlative design.
The samples were 230 students of the Nursing Study Program at the Faculty of
Nursing, USU as the respondents, taken by using stratified random sampling
technique. The data were gathered by using questionnaires on demographic data,
self efficacy and open questions on learning performance measured from their
cumulative grade point average. The result of the research shawed that 97% of
the respondents had high self-efficacy and 70.9% of the respondents had good
grade point average. The result of statistic test showed that there was significant
correlation of self-effICacy with learning performance at p =O.OOI and r=0.277
which indicated that the correlation strength was weak but tended /0 be positive.
The conclusion was that the higher the students' self-efficacy was, the higher their
learning performance. It is recommended that the students improve their selfefficacy in order to get good learning performance.

Abstrak
Ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang semakin berkembang mengharuskan dunia
pendidikan ikut melakukan banyak perubahan pada sistemnya agar dapat
menciptakan individu yang mampu bersaing dan berprestasi di bidangnya. Efikasi
diri sebagai suatu keyakinan individu terhadap diri sendiri akan kemampuannya
dalam melaksanakan tugas atau tindakan memiliki peran penting dalam

pencapaian prestasi individu tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui
hubungan efikasi diri dengan prestasi belajar mahasiswa program studi Ners
dalam proses pembelajaran Kurikulum Berbasis Kompetensi di Fakultas
Keperawatan USU. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif korelatif.
Pengambilan sampel menggunakan stratified random sampling pada 230
mahasiswa program studi Ners di Fakultas Keperawatan USU. Instrumen
penelitian berupa kuesioner data demografi, kuesioner efikasi diri serta pertanyaan
terbuka tentang prestasi belajar yang diukur melalui indeks prestasi komulatif
yang dicapai oleh mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat efikasi
diri mahasiswa program studi Ners mayoritas tinggi yaitu 97,0%, prestasi belajar
lebih dari setengah yaitu 70,9% sangat memuaskan. Hasil uji statistik diperoleh
nilai p=0,001 yang menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara efikasi
diri dengan prestasi belajar, kemudian nilai r=0,277 yang menunjukkan bahwa
kekuatan hubungan dalam kategori lemah dan arah korelasi positif. Berdasarkan
hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi efikasi diri, maka
semakin tinggi pula prestasi belajar yang dicapai oleh mahasiswa. Dengan
demikian diharapkan agar mahasiswa meningkatkan efikasi diri yang dimiliki agar
semakin memiliki prestasi yang baik.
