Adaptasi Budaya Karo Terhadap Tipologi Gereja Katolik
ABSTRAK
Budaya pada masyarakat Karo tidak terlepas dari kegiatan sehari-hari termasuk
dalam kegiatan beribadah. Gereja yang merupakan tempat beribadah bagi
masyarakat yang bearagama kristenpun tidak luput dari budaya Karo tersebut.
Oleh sebab itu dalam penelitian ini akan membahas tentang gereja yang
beradaptasi dengan buadaya Karo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi
kualitatif, yaitu menghasilkan data deskriptif mengenai Gereja Katolik Fransiskus
Asisi Berastagi,Gereja Santa Perewan Maria Naik Kesurga Kabanjahe., dan
Gereja Katolik St. Yohannes Don Bosco Suka Julu-Tiga Jumpa, Barusjahe. Hasil
analisa menunjukan Gereja Katolik Fransiskus Asisi Berastagi dan Gereja Katolik
St. Yohannes Don Bosco Suka Julu-Tiga Jumpa, Barusjahe telah beradaptasi
dengan budaya Karo, hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari kesamaan bentuk bangunan
dengan rumah Siwaluh Jabu.

ABSTRACT
Karonesee culture on society cannot be separated from daily activities, including
the activities of worship. Church is a place of worship for the people who
are Christians were not spared from the Karonesee culture. Therefore, this study
will discuss the churches which are adapted to the culture of Karonesee. This
study used a qualitative methodology, which produces descriptive data about St.
Fransiskus Asisi Catholic Church in Berastagi, Santa Perawan Maria Naik
Kesurga in Kabanjahe, and the Catholic Church St. Yohannes Don Bosco in Suka
Julu-Tiga Jumpa, Barusjahe.The data analysis showed that St. Fransiskus Asisi
Catholic Church in Berastagi and Catholic Church of St. Yohannes Don Bosco in
Suka Julu-Tiga Jumpa, Barusjahe have adapted to the culture of Karonesee, it
can be seen from the similarity of the shape of the building to house of Siwaluh
Jabu.
