Dear Mr. Arifin Harahap,
I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your
letter of today's date which reads as follows :

I have the honour to refer to the
discussions held between the representatives
of the Government of Indonesia and the
Government of Malaysia on Tourism during
the negotiations on the Basic Arrangements
on Trade and Economic Relations, and to
request you to be good ·enough to confirm
the fallowing understanding :

Both Parties realizing the
desirability of promoting their
respective tourist industries agree:
(i)

to co-operate fully so as
to benefit from the big and
rapidly expanding potentials

of international tourism; and

(ii) to facilitate a greater exchange
of travel personalities between
the two countries.
They also agree that the implementation
of the above shall be left to the respective
tourist organisations, both governmental
and private, of the two countries.
I would appreciate your confirmation that this
letter correctly records the understanding reached
between them. "
