ABSTRAK

Riskesdas 2007 melaporkan bahwa indeks DMF-T anak usia 12 tahun di
Provinsi Jawa Barat adalah 2,67. Hasil ini belum mencapai target WHO, yaitu
indeks DMF-T pada anak usia 12 tahun adalah < 1. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui Indeks DMF-T siswa usia 12-13 tahun SMPN 2 Pangalengan
Penelitian bersifat deskriptif. Sampel dari penelitian ini diambil
menggunakan teknik purposive sampling pada populasi siswa usia 12-13 tahun
SMPN 2 Pangalengan, yaitu berjumlah 138 siswa.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indeks DMF-T siswa usia 12-13
tahun SMPN 2 Pangalengan adalah 2,92.
Kesimpulan penelitian bahwa indeks DMF-T siswa usia 12-13 tahun
SMPN 2 Pangalengan termasuk kategori sedang menurut WHO. Penyuluhan
mengenai kesehatan gigi dan mulut masih perlu dilakukan untuk mencegah
peningkatan karies di masa depan pada populasi ini.

ABSTRACT

Riskesdas 2007 reported that DMF-T index in 12 years old children of West
Java is 2,67. This result has not achieved WHO ’s target, the global average to be
no more than 1 DMF-T at 12 years of age. This aim of this research was to know
DMF-T index in 12-13 years old students of SMPN 2 Pangalengan.
The research used a descriptive method. Samples were 138 students, which
were selected by purposive sampling.
The result of this research shows that DMF-T index for 12-13 years old
students of SMPN 2 Pangalengan is 2,92.
The conclusion of this research shows that the result is in moderat category by
World Health Organization. Dental Health Education still must held on this
population for prevent the increase of caries incidence.
