AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
AND
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE POLISH PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC
ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC AND TECHNICAL CO-OPERATION

Government of the Polish People's Republic, hereinafter referred to
as

With a view to further strengthening friendly relations and
developing economic and technica l co-operation on the principles of
mutua l

benefits,

non-interference

affairs and

respect of sovereignty of both countries,

Have agreed as follows

ARTICLE

1

The Contracting Parties sha ll endeavour to encourage the
development of economic and technical co-operation b etween the two
countries in conformity with their national laws and regulations.

ARTICLE

The Contracting Parties sha ll encourage, within their competences, the development of economic and technical co-operation

between

the

respective organizations

and

enter prises of both

countries, state as well as private enterp ri ses in Indonesia and
indu st rial and foreign trade organizations in Poland, in the areas

being a subject of common interest.

ART I CLE

The economic and technical co-oper ation in agreed a reas
might be effected in various scope and forms , in acco rdance with
the regulations being in force in both countr ies, and in particular
through :
exchange of information on economic development ,
designing, technical supervision and Installation services,
-

exchange of know-how, patents and licences ,

-

joint venture p rojects,
co-operation in production of variou s machines, equipment and

means of transport,

-

exchange of exper ts , s pecialists and technicians,

-

exchange of scientific and technological info rmat ion,
setting up of con fe rences, symposia and exhibitions.

ARTICLE

4

The detailed provisions relating to forms and conditions of
the co-operation in agreed areas , shall be formulated In separate
ag reements and/or contracts , concluded between the competent
institutions and organ izations of both countries .

ARTICLE 5

Any payment resulting from the realization of this Agreement shall be effected in accordance with the stipulations of the
Trade Agreement in force or through mutual understandings or
arrangements to be reached between the two countries.

ARTICLE 6

The Contracting Parties agree that the

Indonesia-Poland

Joint Commission on Economic Co-operation shall also include in its
activities :
general coordination of the economic and technical co-operation
between the two countries;
review the progress of implementation of this Agreement;
-


examining the problems arising in the course of implementation
of this Agreement, and recommending the measures for solving
them to the competent bodies of both countries.

ARTICLE

7

The present Agreement shall come into force on the date of
exchange of notes informing that the constitutional requirements
have been fu Ifi lied.

ARTICLE 8

The present Agreement is concluded for a period of three
years and shall be automatically extended for further periods of

year unless either of the

Contracting

Parties declares

in

writing its intention to terminate the Agreement six months prior
to its expiry.

ARTICLE

9

At the termination of the present Agreement, any on-going
project shall be ca rried out to its completion in accordance with
the provisions of separate agreements and/or contracts related to
sa id projects.


In witness whereof, the undersigned, being duly authorized
by their respective Governments, have signed the present Agreement.

Done at Jakarta on the eleventh day of July 1986 in two
originals in the Eng li sh language, both being equa lly authentic.
