Key words: Writing, recount text and suggestopedia
Recount text is one of genre that tells about events happen in the past.
Based on curriculum of senior high school, it is taught in eighth grade students in
the second semester. Writing is one of skill that must be mastering of students and
it is difficult subject because writing share idea from their brain. Suggestopedia
method is a method that is used in presenting new material with a classical music
accompaniment.
In this research, I used writing cerount text of measure SMP N 1 Mejobo
students in writing. The objective of this research is ti find out the ability in
writing recount text of eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Mejobo Kudus in

academic year 2011/2012.
The method used in this research was describe quantitative method. This
research took place at SMP N 1 Mejobo Kudus. The population was the eight
grade of SMP N 1 Mejobo Kudus students. And the sample was VIII C in number
34 students. I gave them written test. I asked them to write a written text a recount
text about their imagination. I asked them to write arecount text in their own
word.
The result of the ability writing recount text of eighth grade students of
SMP N 1 Mejobo Kudus in academic year 2011/2012 is good (highest is 93, the
lowest is 63, the meandian is 79.3 and deviation standard is 8.4). The problem is
faced by students are grammar and vocabulary.
After doing the research, I suggest the students that the students will
improve their writing skill by making a new habit in learning English such as
joining in English language club or making discussion group and enrich their
knowledge in order they can share their ideas easily. And for the teachers who
also really influence in teaching and learning process can help the students in
improve their skill by enrichment the students‟ knowledge.

Teks recount adalah salah satu genre (macam-macam teks) yang
menjelaskan tentang kejadian yang terjadi di masalalu. Sesuai dari kurikulum dari
SMP N 1 Mejobo Kudus. Itu diajarkan di kelas 8 pada semester kedua. Menulis
adalah salah satu kemampuan yang harus di kuasai oleh siswa dan itu adalah
pelajaran yang sulit karena menulis menyampaikan ide dari pikiran. Di dalam
penilitian ini, siswa harus menulis sebuah paragraf tentang teks recount di
semester 2. Suggestopedia adalah metode baru untuk menyampaikan meteri
dengan menggunanakan musik klasik.
Dalam penilitian ini saya menggunakan teks recount tulis untuk mengukur
kemampuan siswa dalam menulis. Tujuan dari penilitian ini adalah mengetahui

kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks recount siswa SMP N 1 Mejobo Kudus
kelas 8 tahun ajaran 2011/2012.
Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Penilitian ini
bertempat di SMP N 1 Mejobo Kudus kelas 8 tahun ajaran 2011/2012 dan
memberikan siswa test tertulis. Saya meminta menulis sebuah teks recount dengan
kata- kata mereka sendiri.
Hasil dari penilitian ini menunjukan bahwa kemampuan siswa SMP N 1
Mejobo Kudus kelas 8 tahun ajaran 2011/2012dalam menulis teks recount adalah
bagus, (nilai tertinggi 93, meandian 79.3 dan standrat deviasion 8.4). Sedangkan
masalah yang di hadapi siswa adalah grammar dan kosakata.
Setelah melakukan penilitian saya menganjurkan agar siswa
mengembangkan kemampuan dalam menulis dengan menciptakan kebiasaan baru
dalam belajar bahasa inggris. Dan meningkatkan penguasaan pengetahuan agar
mereka dapatmenuangkan ide – ide mereka dengan mudah. Bagi guru dapat
membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mereka.
