The Government of the Republic of Indonesia
and
the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany,
in the spirit of the friendly relations existing between
the Republic of' Indonesia and the Federal Republic of Germany,
desiring to strengthen and intensify those friendly relations
by fruitful cooperation in the field of development
assistance,
I
aware that the maintenance of these relations is the basis
for the provisions of the present Agreement,
intending to
ｰｲｯｭｴｾ＠
the development of the Indonesian economy ,
have agreed as follow.., :

- 2 Article 1
The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany shall
enable the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, that the
Bank Negara Indonesia takes up a loan up to a total of fifty
millions Deutschmarks with the Kreditanotalt flir Wiederaufbau
(Development Loan Corporation), Frankfurt/Main, for purchase
of commodities (spare parts , equipment, auxiliary, raw
materials, semi - finished products) for the stabilisation and
for rehabilitation of the Indonesian economy .
Article 2
(1) The utilization of the loan and the terms and conditions
on which it will be granted shall be governed by the
provisions of a loan agreement to be concluded between the
Bank Negara Indonesia and the Kreditanstalt flir Wiederaufbau,
which shall be subject to the legal provisions applicable in
the Federal Republic of Germany .

(2) The Government of the Republic of Indonesia shall
guarantee to the Kreditanstalt flir Wiederaufbau all payments
and the resultant transfer to be made in fulfilment of the
borrower ' s liabilities under the loan agreement concluded .
Article 3
The Government of the Republic of Indonesia shall exempt
the Kreditanstalt flir Wiederaufbau from all taxes and other
public charges levied in the Republic of Indonesia at the
time of the conclusion, or during the execution , of the loan
agreement mentioned in Article 2 of the present Agreement .

The Government 01' the Republic of Indonesia shall , subject
to the provisionci of Article ) of the present Agreement,
allow passengers and suppliers free choice of' means of trans port for such ｴｲ｡ｮｾｰｯｩ＠
by sea or air of ｰ･ｲｾｯｮｳ＠
and
goods as results from the granting of the loan, and ｾｨ｡ｬ＠
abstain from takin[; any ｭ･｡ｾｵｲ＠
that might exclude or impair
the participation of German tran!:>port enterprises , and shall
grant the ｮ･｣ｾｶ｡ｲｹ＠
ｰ･ｲｾｩｴｳ＠
as required .
Article
?
Supplies and services to be paid out of the loan are to be
procured from the Federal Republic of Germany . Supplies may
only be carried by means of' transport of the Republic of
Indonesia, the Federal Republic of Germany or third states
mutually agreed upon by the two Governmen·t-u .
Article 6
The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany is anxious
that for deliveries resulting from the granting of the loan,
preference should be given to products of industries of Land
Berlin .
Article 7
With the exception of those provisions or' Artic l e 4 which
refer to air transport , this Agreement ｾｨ｡ｬ＠
also apply
to Land Berlin, provlded that the Government of the Federal
rtepublic of Germany ha3 not made a contrary declaration to

months from the entry into force of the present Agreement .
Article 8
This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of
signature thereof .
