and the Government of the Republic of France
'!he Governrrent of the Republic of Indonesia and the Governrrent of the
French Republic agreed on the f ollo.ving amendment to the financial protocol
signed on December 9th, 1980.
ARI'ICLE 1. -
Article 1 of the protocol signed on Decerrber 9th, 1980 is cancelled and

"ARTICLE 1. -
a) A maximum arrourrt of NINE HUNDRED TEN MILLICN FRENCH FRANCS (910 MF) is
put at the disposal of the Indonesian Government in the fonn of credits far the
financing of BUKIT ASSAM STEAM PCWER PLANI' AND ASSOCIATED SUBSTATICNS AND
TRANSMISSICN LINES (according to the break-do.vn mentioned in the appendix) which
will be further referred to as "the ｐｾＢＮ＠
b) The aoove mentioned credits will be used for the financing of the
irrported equipnent, engineering and services of French origin for the
construction of the Project, excluding civil works".
ARTICLE 2. -

Article 2 of the protocol signed on December 9th, 1980 is cancelled and
reads as follONS :
"ARI'ICLE 2. -
The credits set in Article 1 consist of a loan from the French Treasury
to the Ministry of Finance, acting on behalf of the Indonesian Government, of a
rraxinum of THREE HUNDRED SIXTY FOUR MIILION FRENOf FRANCS ( 364 MF) and
banker's credits guaranteed by the French Treasury of a maxim.nu arrount of FIVE
HUNDRED FDRI'Y SIX Mil.LION FRENQf FRANCS (546 MF) far financing the gx>ds and
services mentioned in Article l".
ARTICLE 3. -

Article 6 of the protocol signed on Decerrber 9th, 1980, is cancelled and
reads as follONs :
"ARI'ICLE 6. -
The ultimate date for the drawing-up of the contract(s) to be financed
under the present agreement is set on December 31st 1982 unless otherwise agreed
upon by ooth governrrents.
No drawing may be ma.de from the Treasury loan allocated under the present
protocol after December 31st 1984.

the provisions of the present protocol will be cancelled".

Le Gouvernerrent de la Republique de l' Indonesie et le Gouvernerrent de la

sont convenus de conclure le present avenarrt au protocole
financier du 9 decernbre 198J.
ARI'ICLE 1. -
L'article ler du protocole financier du 9 decercbre 1980 est annule et
rerrplace par l'article suivant :
"ARI'ICLE 1. -
a) Une scmne :rraxirrum de NEUF CENT DIX MILLIONS DE FRANCS (910 MF) est
mise a la dispositicn du Gouvernerrerrt indonesien sous fonre de credits, pour
f inancer la construction de la amtrale thermique de BUKIT ASSAM et des sousstations et lignes de transmissicn associees (selcn la deconpositicn figurant en
annexe) qui sera designee ci-apres cnrrme "le PROJEI'".
b) Les credits mentionnes ci-dessus seront utilises pour le financement
des equipements, de l'ingenierie, et services fran91is necessaires

realisaticn du pro jet, a l 'exclusim des depenses de genie Civil

au Ministere des Finances, agissant pour le canpte
de l'Etat indonesien, d'un rrontant :rraxirrum de TROIS CENT SJIXANI'E CJJATRE MILLIONS DE FRANCS (364 MF) et de credits tancaires garantis par le Tresoc fran91is
d'un rrontant :rraxirrurn de CINQ CENT OOARANI'E SIX MILLIONS DE FRANCS (546 MF)
destines a financer l'ir£IX>rtaticn d'equipements lourds et de services mentionnes
a l'Article 1 du present protocole.
ARI'ICLE 3.-
L'article 6 du protocole financier du 9 decerrbre 1980 est annule et
renplace par l'article suivant:
"ARI'ICI.E 6. -
La date limite de passation du ou des contrat(s) finance(s) en
application du present protocole est fixee au 31 decembre 1982 a rroins qu 'une
nouvelle date limite n'ait ete fixee de co:rrmun accord entre les deux Gouvernements. Aucun tirage ne pourra etre effectue sur les prets du Tresoc ouverts
par le present protocole apres le 31 decernbre 1984.
