Executive Programme on Fisheries Cooperation
Between
The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of
Indonesia
And
The Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries of
the Republic of the Sudan
For The Years 2007-2009

The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia
and the Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries of the Republic of the
Sudan, (hereinafter referred to as "The Two Parties") having the real desire
to promote the cooperation in the field of fisheries as envisaged in the
Memorandum of Understanding on Marine and Fisheries Cooperation
signed by both Parties on twenty four of March 2007, have agreed the
following:

A.

Technical Aspects:
Article (1)


1. The Two Parties agreed upon the formation of a joint working group on
Marine and Fisheries. Members of the joint working group should be
composed of three persons from each Party headed by the Director
General of Aquaculture of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries
of the Republic of Indonesia and Under Secretary of the Ministry of
Animal Resources and Fisheries of the Republic of the Sudan.
2. The joint working group shall closely monitor the implementation of the

planned programme based on the priority set up by the Two Parties.
3. The joint working group shall meet twice a year alternately in the capital
city of each party.
4. The Two Parties shall endeavor their efforts in promoting the
sustainability of the marine and fisheries development as well as
responsible fisheries management.

Article (2)
5. The Indonesian Party shall support Sudan in fisheries development
through dispatching experts on freshwater aquaculture, fish processing,
marketing and fish management, human resource development and stock
assessment.

Article (3)
The Two Parties shall exchange information, publication and other printed
materials on fisheries aspects.

Article (4)
The Two Parties shall hold seminars and workshops in order to enrich the
fisheries sector and to increase the exchange of knowledge and experiences
of each other.

Article (5)
The Sudanese Party shall dispatch trainees to Indonesia in the frame of
training-for-trainers, technicians and fish farmers, and long-term educational
programme.


B.

General Finance Provisions:
Article (6)
1.

The sending party shall cover the international travel expenses.

2.

The receiving party shall cover the following expenses :
a.
b.
c.
d.
e.

Suitable accommodation and meals;
Domestic transportation based on the
activities;

Free health care in case of sudden illness;
A monthly allowance;
Exemption from taxes.

Article (7)
Any disagreement between the Parties on the implementation or
interpretation of this Programme shall be resolved through consultation
and/or diplomatic channels.

Article (8)
This Programme shall be valid for two years from the date of its signing and
shall remain in force provisionally after the expiry date until the new
Programme in concluded.
Done in Khartoum on the twenty fourth day of March, 2007 in two original

authentic copies in the English language.
