Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi media dan pupuk daun yang cocok untuk
pembibitan tanaman jarak (Jatropha curcas L.). Penelitian dilakukan padabulan Desember 2007
sampai Maret 2008 di kebun percobaan Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. Penelitian ini
menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor dan 3
ulangan. Faktor I komposisi media (tanah : pasir : humus bambu, tanah : pasir : sekam, tanah :
pasir : pupuk kandang). Faktor II macam pupuk cair : tanpa pupuk cair , pupuk cair Growmore,
pupuk cair Champion, dan pupuk cair Bayfolan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi, tinggi
tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, dan diameter batang yang dilakukan 7 hari sekali. Parameter
yang diamati pada akhir pengamatan meliputi berat kering tanaman, berat kering akar, dan
kandungan klorofil daun.
Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa Interaksi antara komposisi media dan macam pupuk cair
berpengaruh nyata terhadap diameter batang. Ukuran diameter batang terbesar adalah kombinasi
perlakuan tanah : pasir : pupuk kandang + pupuk cair Champion. Komposisi media berpengaruh
sangat nyata terhadap pertumbuhan bibit tanaman jarak (Jatropha curcas L.). Media dengan
komposisi tanah : pasir : pupuk kandang memberikan hasil tertinggi pada semua parameter
pengamatan. Macam pupuk daun berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah
daun, luas daun dan kandungan klorofil daun, serta berpengaruh nyata terhadap diameter batang,
berat kering akar, berat kering tanaman pada bibit tanaman jarak (Jatropha curcas L.). Pupuk cair
Champion (dengan unsur hara 21% N, 21% P, 21% K, B, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Mo) memberikan
hasil terbaik terhadap semua parameter pengamatan.
This research aimed was to find out the composition of media and leaf fertilizer fix with the seed
Jathropa curcas. The research was done in December 2007 to March 2008 in Experiment Garden
University Muhammadiyah of Malang. The research used randomized black design (RBD) with
2 faktor and 3 time replications. Firs factor was media composition (soil : sand : bamboo humus
,soil : sand : husk, soil : sand : organic fertilizer). Second factor liquid fertilizer : without liquid
fertilizer, Growmore, Champion liquid fertilizer and Bayfolan. Parameters were observed plant
height, total of leaves, wide of leaf, and diameter of stem which were done once in 7 days.
Parameter observed in the end of observation consisted of plant dry weight, root dry weight and
chlorophyl contain.
The research showed that interaction between media composition and liquid fertilizer has real
influence to diameter of stem. The biggest diameter of stem was combination of soil : sand : leaf
fertilizer + Champion. Media composition has real influence to the development of Jatropha
curcas L. seed. Media with composition soil : sand : fertilizer gave the highest result for all
parameter. Leaf fertilizer kind gave real influence to the plant height, total of leaf, leaf wide and
leaf chlorophyl kind and real influence to the diameter of stem, root dry weight, plant dry weight
tothe seedling of seed Jatropha curcas. Champion liquid fertilizer (with substances 21% N, 21%
P, 21% K, B, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Mo) gave the best result for all parameters.
