When the noun bases, architect and portrait, change into architecture and portraiture, the meanings of both bases also change into ‘the art and study of designing buildings’ and ‘the art of making portraits’ rather than ‘the art of a person whose job is designing buildings’ and ‘the art of a painting, drawing or photograph of a person’.
