Di dalam era globalisasi tuututau masyarakat Iudouesia maupuu Iute~nasiolral
akau mutu daging yaug berkualitas tiuggi semakiu meniugkat. Salah satu dagiug
ayam yaug berkulitas tiuggi adalah ayam gedagiug strau~AKSAS. Keudala utama
dalaln bididaya ayam AKSAS adalah mahahya bahan pakau sumber protejll terutama
tepuug ilcau. Iudouesia mempuuyai poteusi laut yaug saugat besar seliiugga bauyak
terdapat ikau rucah yaug meiupakau hasil ikutau deugau harga mwah d a l i bersifat
mudah busuk. Pemaufaatau ikau rucah meujadi tepuug silase ikau aka11 lebib
ekouomis, tepuug silase ikalr tersebut dapat dipakai sebagai bahau pakari. sumber
proteiu dalam rausum. Peuelitiall iui beitujuau ulrtuk meugetal~uipe~igaruhdan taraf
pemnberian tepuug silase ikau deugan filler dedak padi dau pollard dalam ransum
ayam pedagu~gstrain AKSAS.
Peuelitiau iui dilaksanakau d i kaudang uuggas Pusat Autar Uuiversitas (PAU)
Ilmu Hayat IPB dari bulau September sampai November 1999. Ayarn yang
diguuakau sebauyak 180 ekor ayam pedagiug straiu AKSAS dari urntu sehari yang
ditempatkau dalam 18 kaudaug dau masiug-masiug kaudaug terdiri dari 10 ekor.

Raucaugarl percobaau yaug diguuakau dala~npeuelitiau iui adalah rancangatr
acak leuglcap pola faktolial2 X 3 deugarl 3 kali ulaugau, setiap ulaugan terdiri dari 10
elcor ayam. Faktor A adalah jeuis peugikatlfiller (dedak padi dau yollard) dali faktor
B adalah tiugkat peugguuaan tepuug silase ikau dalam rausum (0%, 25% dalr 50%).
Peubah yaug-diamati tedki dari bobot badau akhir, kousumsi rausam, lleltambahan
bobot badau, kouversi rausum, mortalitas dau Inconze Over Feed and Chick Cost
(IOFC).
Tiugkat pelrgguuaan tepuug silase ikau dalaln rausum (0%, 25% dail 50%)
me~rulijukkauhasil yalrg tidak berbeda uyata terlradap bobot badall alcllir, konsuinsi
ransum, Peltarnbahau bobot badan dan konversi rausum. Pengg~unaanjeliis filler

Uji lai~jut deugau mengg~ulakan uji koutras oltogonal me~lu~~julckan
bahwa
peuggu~laanfiller dedak gadi pada tepuug silase ikail memberikan hilsil uyata lebih
baik (P< 0.05) terhadap bobot badau alchir, petambalran bobot badan d a l ~kouversi
ransum.
Peuelitian h i meuuujukkarl bahwa railsuin yaug merlggunaltan tepuug silase
ikau deugau jller dedak padi sebauyak 50% lebih baik digunakan karella

meughasilkan nilai Inconze Over Feed and Chick Cost (IOFC)yang lebih besar.

The delnaud of high quality Ineat is increasing rapidly in globalizatio~lera,
both in domestic as well as international community. AICSAS strail1 broiler is
considered as one ltind of po~dtrythat produce high quality of meat. Main 111-obleunof
rearing AICSAS is the expensive of protein source iugredient for diet, lnai~ilyfish

meal. However, Indonesia has nloulrinous sea potential with abundant of fish cat11 byproduct, which is very cheap and dacay easily. This kiud of fish is very poteutial to be
produced ecouoinically as fish silage meal and used as source of protein in the diet.
Tlie research was conducted to evalute the influence rice bran-fish silage meal and
pollard-fish silage meal on performauce of AKSAS strail] broiler.
Research was carried out at Inter U~~iversityCenter (IUCIPAU), Bogor
ngricultme U~iversity,fi'oin September to November 1999. one hu~ud~.ed

of day old chick of M S A S strail] broilers were reared in 18 cages whiclt 10 chiclts
per cage.
The research used comnpletely randomise design with fictorial patteum 2 X 3
and 3 replicates wllich each co~isistof 10 cllicks. There were 2 factors of filler (rice
bran and pollard) and 3 levels of fish silage meal (0%, 25% and 50%). Data observed
were feed consumptio~~,
body weight gain, feed conversition, final body weight.

Tlie result showed that 3 levels of fish silage meal did uot influence to body
weight gain, final body weight, feed consunnl)tio~iand feed conversition. The other
hand, body weight gain, and fiual body weight of the cl~icltsfed rice bran-fish silage
meal were significanly higher ( P i 0,05) than those of pollard-fish silage meal. Tlie
feed conveution of the chick fed rice bran-fish silage meal was significanly better
