ABSTRAK
Dalam Skripsi ini dibahas tentang teknik-teknik penerjemahan yang
digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan figurative sense (majas) yang

terdapat dalam film berbahasa Inggris “The Young Victoria” ke dalam bahasa
Indonsia. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode simak (observation
attantively) oleh Sudaryanto kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan
translational identity method oleh Sudaryanto. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah
untuk mengidentifikasi atau menemukan jenis-jenis majas apa yang terdapat
dalam film “The Young Victoria”, kemudian mengidentifikasi teknik penerjemah
apa yang digunakan.
Setelah diidentifikasi terdapat beberapa jenis figurative sense yaitu:
Metapor (3 data), Sinekdok (5 data), Simile (4 data), dan Personifikasi (5 data).
Semua figurative sense (majas) itu dijadikan sebagai data untuk dianalisa. Data
dianalisa dengan menggunakan teknik penerjemahan yang mengacu kepada teori
Vinay dan Darbelnet.
Dari hasil analisis, penulis menemukan data diterjemahkan figurative dan
satu data dalam bentuk memberikan tambahan kata (adding sense of the word).
Teknik terjemahan yang ditemukan dalam menganalisis figurative senses (majas)
yaitu: literal translation (11 data), modulasi (4 data), calque (1 data) dan
transposisi (1 data).
