Kejadian Edema Sistoid Makula Paska Operasi Katarak Dengan Pemeriksaan Optical Coherence Tomography Di RSUP. H. Adam Malik Medan Dan RSUD. Dr. Pirngadi Medan

ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang : Edema sistoid makula paska operasi katarak atau
Irvine-Gass syndrome adalah cystoid macular edema (CME) yang timbul
setelah operasi katarak. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) akan
memperlihatkan gambaran penebalan retina yang luas disertai gambaran
kista (low reflectivity) pada lapisan inner nuclear dan outer plexiform
layers.
Tujuan : Untuk mengetahui kejadian edema sistoid makula paska operasi
katarak dan memberikan gambaran faktor yang berpotensi menyebabkan
timbulnya dengan pemeriksaan optical coherence tomography (OCT) di
RSUP. H. Adam Malik Medan dan RSUD. Dr Pirngadi Medan.
Metode : Penelitian bersifat deskriptif observasional yang prospektif.
Edema sistoid makula paska operasi katarak diperiksa dengan Optical
Coherence Tomography (OCT).
Hasil Penelitian :. Tidak dijumpai adanya edema sistoid makula paska
operasi katarak. Dijumpai adanya perbedaan signifikan rata-rata ketebalan
makula paska operasi katarak berdasarkan jenis operasi. Dijumpai adanya
peningkatan rata-rata ketebalan makula pada operasi katarak teknik
ECCE dengan trauma iris dan sisa korteks lensa. Tidak ada perbedaan
signifikan rata-rata ketebalan makula paska operasi katarak berdasarkan
umur, riwayat hipertensi dan diabetes melitus.

Kesimpulan : Tidak dijumpai adanya CME paska operasi katarak
kemungkinan disebabkan tidak dijumpainya faktor yang berpotensi
menyebabkan CME paska operasi katarak seperti tidak adanya
peradangan COA paska operasi, tidak adanya robekan kapsul posterior,
letak IOL pada posterior chamber serta adanya pemberian tetes mata
prophylaksis.

ABSTRACT
Background : The term Irvine-Gass syndrome is used for CME following
cataract surgery. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings of CME
include diffuse retinal thickening with cystic areas of low reflectivity
(reduced reflectivity) more prominently in the inner nuclear and outer
plexiform layers.
Purpose : To identify the incidence of cystoid macular edema (CME) after
cataract surgery and to describe factors that could potentially cause
cystoid macular edema (CME) after cataract surgery with optical

coherence tomography (OCT) examination in Adam Malik and Pirngadi
Hospital.
Methods : This study was a descriptive observational prospective. Cystoid
macular edema (CME) after cataract surgery was measured with optical
coherence tomography (OCT).
Result : It was not found cystoid macular edema (CME) after cataract
surgery. There was a significant difference of mean macular thickness by
type of surgery. There was a increase in mean macular thickness of the
operated eyes with ECCE in iris trauma and retained lens fragment. There
was no a significant difference of mean macular thickness by age, patients
with hipertension or diabetes mellitus.
Conclusion : No found cystoid macular edema (CME) after cataract
surgery likely caused not encountered factors that could potentially cause
cystoid macular edema (CME) after cataract surgery such as the absence
of postoperative COA inflammation, posterior capsule rupture, placement
of IOL in posterior chamber and patients receiving of prophylaxis eye
drops.
