Perilaku Akseptor Vasektomi dan Dukungan Keluarga di Wilayah Kerja Kecamatan Porsea Kabupaten Toba Samosir
ABSTRAK
Rendahnya keikutsertaan pria dalam ber-KB dikarenakan kurangnya
pemahaman tentang kontrasepsi, dan rendahnya minat dalam mengakses informasi
tentang KB. Selain itu, masih adanya pandangan negatif yang muncul di masyarakat
terhadap pria ber KB, berupa kenyamaan dengan pengebirian, memengaruhi
kenikmatan berhubungan seksual dan anggapan sulit untuk ereksi. Tujuan penelitian
adalah untuk mengetahui perilaku peserta akseptor vasektomi dan dukungan keluarga
di wilayah Kerja Kecamatan Kecamatan Porsea Kabupaten Toba Samosir.
Jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Informan pada
penelitian ini adalah kepala rumah tangga atau suami yang telah menjadi akseptor KB
vasektomi yaitu sebanyak 4 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara
mendalam. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kualitatif naratif
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan suami masih tergolong
rendah, hal ini terlihat dari penjelaskan informan tentang mekanisme vasektomi,
kelebihan dan kekurangan vasektomi serta resiko pelaksanaan vasektomi yang belum
dapat dijawab secara benar. Sikap informan terhadap suami yang melakukan KB
cukup positif, hal tersebut terlihat dari saran informan kepada suami-suami untuk
melakukan KB vasektomi bagi keluarga yang sudah memiliki banyak anak.
Dukungan keluarga masih kurang baik, hal ini dapat dilihat masih minimnya
informasi tentang vasektomi yang diperoleh dari keluarga, kurangnya anjuran
keluarga untuk menggunakan vasektomi, dan keluarga tidak menemani dalam
melakukan vasektomi. Pelaksanaan vasektomi yang dilakukan sudah cukup baik
karena informan telah mengetahui alasan mengapa mereka mau menjadi akseptor
vasektomi dan mengingat waktu melakukan vasektomi, yang menandakan bahwa
mereka mengetahui saat melakukan vasektomi secara sadar.
Perlu adanya peningkatan pengetahuan secara berkelanjutan oleh tenaga
kesehatan atau petugas dari Badan Kependudukan, Catatan Sipil, KB dan Keluarga
Sejahtera untuk memberikan penyuluhan mengenai vasektomi dan keuntungannya,
sehingga suami memilih untuk menjadi akseptor vasektomi.

ABSTRACT
The lack of men’s participation in KB (Family Planning) program is because
of the lack of their understanding in contraception and interest in accessing
information about KB program. Besides that, there are still negative interpretations
on men’s participation in KB program such as convenience in sterilization, bad effect
on sexual intercourse, and assumption on the difficulty in erection. The objective of
the research was to find out the behavior of vasectomy acceptors and family support
in the working area of Porsea Subdistrict, Toba Samosir District.
The type of the research was descriptive qualitative. The informants consisted
of four heads of family or husbands who had participated in KB as vasectomy
acceptors. The data were gathered by conducting in-depth interviews and analyzed
narrative qualitatively.
The result of the research showed that husbands’ knowledge was low; it could
be seen from their explanation about the mechanism of vasectomy, the positive and
negative values of vasectomy and the risk of the implementation of vasectomy was not
correctly expressed by them. The attitude of their wives toward their husbands’
participation in KB was positive; it could be seen from their suggestion that their
husbands participate in KB when they had had a lot of children. Family support was
bad; it could be seen from the lack of information about vasectomy , the lack of
suggestion from families to participate in using vasectomy, and family members did
not actively accompanied husbands to participate in KB. The implementation of
vasectomy was relatively good because the informants had already known the
reasons why they became vasectomy acceptors and knew the right time in using
vasectomy which indicated that they did it consciously.
It is recommended that health care providers or the personnel from the
Residential Affairs Office, Civil Registry Office, KB, and Family Welfare provide
counseling about vasectomy and its benefit so that husbands are willing to be
vasectomy acceptors.
