He also Anna workmate at Scottish Monthly Gazette. He envious when Anna accompanied David in journey in Edinburgh. She loves Anna and want to marriage her but, Anna refused. 3.4.3 Aunt Euphemia

Euphemia is Ann’s aunt. They live together in Edinburgh. She always care and kind for Anna and julia her sister. Euphemia become her good hearer for every problems which over her. The continued knocking on the door of her bedchamber spoke of Aunt Euphemia’s dedication and endurance to her chosen course of action which was, in this instance, forcing Anna for her seclusion Brisbin’s The Earl’s Secret, 2007 P.227

3.4.4 Julia

Julia is Anna’s sister. Julia is a clever and diligent sister for Anna. Anna hopes that Julia will always keep study about social thing as what she has done eventhough she lacked with others. But it just about time because julia still young and has so many chance to learn more. At twelve years of age, she had mastered many social skills but still lacked others. Reaching over and tucking an errant strand of hair under her bonnet, Anna hoped her sister would always keep that bright enthusiasm for life within her Brisbin’s The Earl’s Secret, 2007 P. 70 Universitas Sumatera Utara

CHAPTER IV CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

4.1 Conclusions

The writer analyzes the intrinsic elements in a novel because it is essentially in elements of novel. Intrinsic elements are main elements to create a novel if one of them is not shown it will be error so all of them must be solid and support each others. The writer chooses a novel entitled The Earl’s Secret by Terri Brisbin because the intrinsic in the novel is solid and support each others. The writer shows the conclusions intrinsic elements from the novel below. 1. Theme in this novel is two people who took the consequence for their love. Most of the story narrates both David and Anna. David is the Earl of Treybourne and Anna is a teacher. When David wants Anna to be his wife, he must get out from Treybourne. 2. The plot in this novel is progressive from beginning until ending. In the beginning is narrated about David headed to Edinburgh to seeking a help because an article at The Scottish Monthly Gazette. Began making a mess of his father’s political plans by who known as Goodfellow. He began to thereating to take action, he seeking the help to cool the fires before they got out of control.In Edinburgh, he disguising his plans and himself as Mr Archer.
