Appendix 2 MITCH ALBOM’S BIOGRAPHY
Mitch Albom was a Philadelphia native and was born on May 23, 1958 Passaic, New Jersey.
Mitch Albom graduated from Brandeis University with sociology major and earned Masters
Degrees in journalism and business administration from Columbia University in New York City. He is
well known as a best selling author, nationally syndicated newspaper host for ABC and Flag Ship station WJR-AM in Detroit, and television commentator.
These are his works, life and achievements.
1. BOOK
Tuesdays with Morrie is a phenomenal best seller novel which is based on the true story about the author himself. It is about the friendship between the
author of the novel, Mitch Albom and his lecturer, Morrie Schwartz. Besides Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom also published nine books, including the
New York Times bestseller The Five People You meet in Heaven, Live Albom I” 1987,” Live Albom II”1990, “Live Albom III”1992, “Live Albom
IV”1995 the autobiography of Bo Schembechler co-written with Schembechler and also a New York Times bestseller, and “Fab Five” the story of the University
of Michigans famed mens basketball recruits who all became starters as freshmen

during the early 1990s. The making film of it continued Tuesdays with Morrie’s popularity. As a result Mitch Albom got the EMMY awards in 2000 including for
being “ The best actor” and ”The best supporting actor” in Tuesdays with Morrie’s movie. And his newest project is a book called For one More Day. For
making this book Mitch Albom interviewed many people to ask who the person they wanted to spend for one more day with.
2. NEWSPAPER
Mitch Albom was named the number one sport columnist and the highest in the nation by the sport editors of America APSE. He also received the seven
first places APSE honor for feature writing more than once. He has received more than one hundred writing awards from AP, UPI, Headliners Club, National
Sportswriters and Broadcasters Associations. His work has appeared in numerous national and international publication including Sports Illustrated, GQ, Sport, The
New York Times, TV Guide, USA Today, and Germanys popular GEO Magazine as well as on the Internet with MSNBC.
3. RADIO
Mitch Albom hosts two radio talk shows. His broadcasts originate from ABC-owned flagship station WJR-AM in Detroit, a 50,000-watt station that
reaches 38 states and much of Canada, and include: 1. The Mitch Albom Show which airs 5-7 p.m. Eastern time Monday
through Friday, is now in its ninth year.

2. The Monday Sports Albom, a sports interview program, airs 7-8 p.m. Eastern Time and is now in its nineteenth year. Past guests have included
everyone from President Gerald Ford to Wayne Gretzky to Dennis Rodman.
