3 Based on the results of the questionnaires for the students part A, the
writer found that students were interested in learning listening. However, the listening materials were not frequently taught in the class and they also did not
have listening handbooks for their references. It was interesting to note that the listening materials that they already had were not too easy and too difficult.
However, they still had difficulties in listening to the English words. The writer found that the factors that made the listening difficult were because there were
many difficult words in the listening materials, they were seldom taught, and they were only repeated once or twice. However, most of their difficulties were
49 because of the lack of concentration and practice. In terms of the activities, they
mostly experienced question and answer and answering questions. The other activities that they did were filling in the blanks, drilling, and discussing.
However, those activities were not conducted frequently by them. In order to find the activities that the students need, the writer asked seven
questions in the questionnaire for the students part B.

2 The data on the table 4.6 indicated that the listening materials needed pre-
activity before the lesson. In this table, the students said that most of them needed to dig up the vocabulary in the pre-activity. The second option was sharing and
the third option was question and answer. The medium that they needed was through listening to the recording because it was the medium that they frequently
used. The listening materials were also needed to be related to their daily lives because the materials which were related to their daily lives helped them
understand the materials easier. At last, the students needed reflection to end the lesson.
