Pengaruh Periode Panen Terhadap Viabilitas Benih Rosela (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.)

ABSTRAK
DEDES MAYANG SARI PULUNGAN : Pengaruh Periode Panen Terhadap
Viabilitas Benih Rosela (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.). Dibimbing oleh HARYATI dan
RATNA ROSANTY LAHAY.
Rosela memiliki periode panen yang tidak serempak atau tidak bersamaan
sehingga pemanenan dilakukan secara bertahap. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui pengaruh periode panen terhadap viabilitas benih rosela
(Hibiscus sabdariffa L.). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan percobaan Fakultas
Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara yang berada ± 25 meter diatas permukaan
laut dan dilanjutkan di Laboratorium Teknologi Benih Fakultas Pertanian
Universitas Sumatera Utara pada bulan Februari sampai Juni 2013, menggunakan
Rancangan Acak Kelompok Non Faktorial, Analisis data menggunakan analisis
sidik ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji DMRT untuk data yang nyata. Parameter
yang diamati adalah bobot kering benih, bobot kering benih setelah 4 hari
dikering anginkan, kadar air benih, kadar air benih setelah dikering anginkan 4
hari, bobot 100 biji, jumlah biji/buah, laju perkecambahan, uji daya kecambah,
indeks vigor, bobot kering kecambah dan pola perkecambahan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa periode panen berpengaruh nyata terhadap
parameter penelitian bobot kering benih (g), bobot kering benih setelah 4 hari
dikering anginkan (g), bobot 100 biji (g), kecambah normal (%), benih tidak
berkecambah (%),bobot kering benih (g), tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap

kadar air benih (%), kadar air benih setelah 4 hari dikering anginkan (%) , jumlah
biji/buah (biji), kecambah abnormal (%), laju perkecambahan (hari) dan indeks
vigor (%).

Viability of Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.). Unders superviced 0f HARYATI and
RATNA ROSANTY LAHAY.
Rosella has a harvest period that does not simultaneously or concurrently so that
harvesting done gradually. This research aimed to determine the effect of harvest
on seed viability period of roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.).Conducted in the
experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra
which were ± 25 meters above sea level and continued in Seed Technology
Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra from
February to June 2013, using randomized block design non factorial. Obtained
data analyzed with analysis of variance and would be continued with DMRT for
significant effect. Parameters measured were dry seed weight, seed dry weight

after 4 days of wind dried, seed moisture content, seed moisture content after 4
days of wind dried, 100 seed weight, number of seeds/fruit, germination rate,
germination test, vigor index, weight germination and seedling dry pattern.
The results showed that significantly affect the harvest period parameter study of
seed dry weight (g), seed dry weight after 4 days of wind dried (g), weight of 100
seeds (g), normal germination (%), seeds do not germinate (%), seed dry weight
(g), but the effect is not significantly affected
seed moisture content (%), seed moisture content after 4 days of wind dried (%),
number of seeds/fruit (seed), abnormal germination (%), the rate of germination
(days) and vigor index (%).
