Efektivitas Supervisory Training Bagi Supervisor PT X

ABSTRAK
PT X merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang produksi kemasan
karton dan sudah berdiri sejak tahun 1972. Produk-produk yang dihasilkan berupa
folding carton dan corrugated carton. Saat ini PT mengalami berbagai masalah,
terjadinya penurunan kinerja, penurunan laba penjualan, para top management
kurang mengambil tindakan yang tepat, tingkat turnover yang tinggi khususnya
dibagian operasional pabrik, penurunan jumlah repeated order. Keterampilan dan
keahlian supervisor dalam menjalankan tugasnya juga harus diasah dan
dikembangkan, salah satunya dengan pelatihan (Blanchard & Thacker, 2004).
Supervisory Training merupakan salah satu kegiatan penting bagi perusahaan
karena tujuan utama dari Supervisory Training adalah meningkatkan performa
para supervisor. Supervisory Training pada penelitian ini terdiri dari 5 materi,
yaitu Supervisor secara umum, Keterampilan Supervisor, Kemampuan
Mendengar/Listening Skill, Teamwork dan Kepemimpinan yang merupakan hasil
TNA sebelumnya.
Penelitian ini merupakan Quasi Eksperimental Design dengan one group
pretest-posttest design. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengukur efektivitas Supervisory
Training untuk Supervisor PT X. Pengukuran efektivitas dilakukan dengan
melakukan evaluasi reaksi, evaluasi belajar dan evaluasi prilaku yang
dikemukakan oleh Kirkpatrick (1983). Metode analisa yang digunakan adalah
analisa deskriptif yang mengacu pada kriteria kategorisasi. Norma kategorisasi
yang digunakan merupakan norma adopsi pada Program LTS (Leadership
Training for Supervisor) yang dikembangkan oleh Blanchard Training and
Development (BDT) dan Gap Inc. Corporate Training Departement.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Supervisory Training untuk
Supervisor PT X efektif dilakukan. Hal ini ditunjukkan melalui hasil evaluasi
dimana para Supervisor menunjukkan reaksi yang positif terhadap Supervisory
Training, adanya peningkatan pengetahuan setelah mendapatkan Supervisory
Training dan para Supervisory merasa kemampuan mereka meningkat setelah
mendapatkan pelatihan dan mampu mengaplikasikan materi pada Supervisory
Training dalam pelaksanaan pekerjaan mereka.

PT X is is a company engaged in the production of paperboard packaging
and has been established since 1972. The products are produced in the form of
folding carton and corrugated carton. PT X is currently experiencing a variety of
problems, a decline in performance, sales profit decline, the lack of top
management to take appropriate action, in particular the high turnover rate of
plant operations section, and a decrease in the number of repeated orders.
Supervisor‟s skills and expertise in carrying out their duties must also be
sharpened and developed, one of them with training (Blanchard & Thacker,
2004). Supervisory Training is one of the important activities for the company
because the main purpose of Supervisory Training is to improve the performance
of the supervisor. Supervisory Training in this study consisted of 5 items, which
Supervisor, Supervisor Skills, Listening Skill, Teamwork and Leadership which is
the result of the previous TNA.
This study was Quasi Experimental Design with a one-group pretestposttest design. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of Supervisory
Training for Supervisor inPT X. Measurements conducted by evaluating the
effectiveness of the reaction evaluation, learning evaluation and evaluation of
behavior proposed by Kirkpatrick (1983). Analysis method used is descriptive
analysis that refers to the categorization criteria. Norma categorization used is the
adoption program from LTS (Leadership Training for Supervisors) developed by
Blanchard Training and Development (BDT) and Gap Inc. Corporate Training
Department.
The results showed that the Supervisory Training for Supervisor PT X
effectively done. It is shown by results of the evaluation in which the supervisor
showed a positive reaction to the Supervisory Training, increase in knowledge
after obtaining the Supervisory Training and supervisors feel their skills improved
after receiving training and are able to apply the Supervisory Training‟s materials
in the implementation of their work.
