Pemerintah Republik Indonesia dan Pemerintah Persatuan Emirat Arab (selanjutnya
disebut sebagai "Para Pihak");
DIILHAMI oleh hasrat untuk meningkatkan dan memperkuat hubungan yang telah
terjalin di antara Para Pihak;
MENCERMINKAN
aspirasi
bersama
Para
Pihak
untuk
mengembangkan
persahabatan dan kerjasama;
MEMPERTEGAS keyakinannya bahwa pengembangan hubungan yang bersahabat
dan kerjasama antara Para Pihak akan memberikan sumbangan kepada perdamaian,
keamanan dan ekonomi dunia melalui upaya membangun sikap saling percaya,
pengertian dan kerjasama di dalam hubungan internasional,
Telah menyepakati hal-hal sebagai berikut :
Pasal 1
Para Pihak dengan ini membentuk konsultasi berkala, pada tingkat pejabat
tinggi, antara Departemen Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia dan Kementerian Luar
Negeri Persatuan Emirat Arab (selanjutnya disebut "Konsultasi") guna membahas
modalitas untuk memperluas dan memperdalam kerjasama antara Para Pihak serta
tema internasional yang menjadi kepentingan bersama.
Pasal 2
Konsultasi tersebut dapat diadakan setahun sekali atau lebih sering sesuai
keperluan, secara bergantian di Indonesia dan di Persatuan Emirat Arab dan masa
berlangsungnya setiap pertemuan akan ditentukan melalui saluran diplomatik.
Pasal 3
Hasil Konsultasi tersebut tidak dapat disiarkan kepada umum, kecuali bila
disepakati oleh Para Pihak.
Pasal 4
Para Pihak dapat membentuk kelompok-kelompok kerja atau pertemuanpertemuan para pakar guna membahas bidang-bidang khusus yang menjadi
kepentingan bersama.
Pasal 5
Memorandum Saling Pengertian ini dapat dirubah atas persetujuan bersama
Para Pihak.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
AND
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF BILATERAL CONSULTATIONS
The Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the
United Arab Emirates (hereinafter referred to as the "Parties");
INSPIRED by the desire to increase and further consolidate existing ties
between the Parties;
REFLECTING the common aspiration of the Parties to develop friendship and
cooperation;
AFFIRMING their conviction that the development of friendly relations and
cooperation between the Parties will contribute to international peace, security
and economy by means of creating mutual confidence, understanding and
cooperation in international relations,
HA VE AGREED as follows :
Article l
The Parties hereby establish regular consultations, at senior officials level,
between the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (hereinafter referred
to as "the Consultations") to discuss modalities of extending and deepening the
cooperation between the Parties as well as international themes of common
interest.
Article 2
The Consultations may be held annually or more frequently as deemed
necessary, alternately in Indonesia and in United Arab Emirates, agenda and
duration of each meeting will be determined through diplomatic channels.
Article 3
The outcome of the Consultations shall not be made public, unless
otherwise agreed upon by the Parties.
Article 4
The Parties may set up working groups or expert meetings in order to
discuss specific areas of common interest.
Article 5
This Memorandum of Understanding may be amended by mutual
consent of the Parties.
