ABSTRAK
Faktor-Faktor Penyebab Anak Menjadi Anak Jalanan di Kelurahan Sei Mati
Kecamatan Medan Maimun Kota Medan
Salah satu permasalahan anak yang sampai saat ini masih ada adalah
permasalahan anak jalanan. Anak jalanan merupakan suatu fenomena yang tidak
pernah hampir mati diseluruh pelosok-pelosok kota besar di Indonesia, seperti halnya
Kota Medan. Meningktanya kebutuhan akan pangan, sandang, papan dan sulitnya
persaingan hidup mengakibatkan anak-anak juga harus turun ke jalan melakukan
berbagai macam aktifitas di jalanan demi memenuhi kebutuhan hidup. Penelitian ini
bertujan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab anak menjadi anak jalanan di
Kelurahan Sei Mati Kecamatan Medan Maimun Kota Medan. Dengan harapan
mampu memberikan pengaruh positif dalam upaya penangan anak jalanan.
Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dan pendekatan kualitatif dengan cara
menganalisis faktor-faktor penyebab anak menjadi anak jalanan di Kelurahan Sei
Mati Kecamatan Medan Maimun Kota Medan. Oleh karena itu dalam penelitian ini
tidak dikenal populasi dan sample. Melainkan informan yang memberikan informasi
yang jelas, akurat dan terpercaya, baik berupa pernyataan, keterangan atau data yang
dapat membantu memenuhi persoalan atau permasalahan. Informan penelitian ini
terbagi 3, diantaranya informan utama, yaitu 5 orang anak jalanan, informa tambahan
yaitu orang tua dari anak jalanan sebanyak 5 orang, dan informan kunci yaitu 1 orang
kepala Kelurahan Sei Mati Kecamatan Medan Maimun Kota Medan. Untuk
mendapatkan informasi atau data melalui studi kepustakaan dan studi lapangan, yaitu
dengan cara observasi dan wawancara.
Dalam penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa berdasarkan informasi dan
data-data yang telah didapatkan dalam proses penelitian bahwa yang menjadi faktorfaktor penyebab anak menjadi anak jalanan di Kelurahan Sei Mati Kecamatan Medan
Maimun Kota Medan yang disebabkan oleh tiga faktor yaitu faktor mikro (berasal
dari dalam dirinya dan keluarganya), faktor messo (disebabkan oleh lingkungan
sosial masyarakat), dan faktor makro yaitu, (adanya peluang pekerjaan pada sektor
informal yang tidak terlalu membutuhkan modal dan keahlian mereka harus berada
dijalanan, biaya pendidikan yang tinggi dan juga belum beragamnya unsur
pemerintah memandang anak jalanan sebagai kelompok yang memerlukan
perawatan)

Factors Contributing to Children Become Street Children in the village of Sei Mati
subdistrict of Medan Maimun Medan
One of the problems of children who until now there is the problem of street
children. Street children is a phenomenon that never moribund outposts throughout
the major cities in Indonesia, such as Medan. Meningktanya need for food, clothing,
housing and the difficulty of the competition resulted in children's lives should also
be taking to the streets doing all sorts of activities in the street in order to meet the
necessities of life. Bertujan of this study to determine the factors that cause children
to become street children in Sub Sei Mati subdistrict of Medan Maimun Medan.
With the hope to have a positive influence in the effort handlers street children.
This research is descriptive and qualitative approach by analyzing the factors
that cause children to become street children in Sub Sei Mati subdistrict of Medan
Maimun Medan. Therefore in this study is not known and the sample population.
Rather informants who provide information that is clear, accurate and reliable, both
in the form of statements, information or data that can help meet problems or
concerns. The informants divided into three, including key informants, ie 5 street
children, additional informa that parents of street children as many as five people,
and key informants that one person's head Sei Mati village district of Medan Maimun
Medan. To obtain information or data through library research and field studies,
namely by means of observation and interviews.
In this study it can be concluded that based on the information and data that
have been obtained in the research process that become factors that cause children to
become street children in Sub Sei Mati subdistrict of Medan Maimun Medan caused
by three factors, namely micro factors (originating from within him and his family),
factor messo (caused by the social environment), and the macro factors, namely,
(their chances of employment in the informal sector who do not really need the
capital and expertise they need to be on the streets, the cost of higher education and
also not diverse elements of the government views as a group of street children who
need care)
