FORMULASI SEDIAAN KRIM EKSTRAK BUAH RIMBANG
(Solanum torvum Sw.) SEBAGAI ANTI-AGING
Abstrak
Latar Belakang: Buah rimbang mengandung berbagai jenis vitamin, seperti
vitamin A, vitamin B1, dan vitamin C, glukoalkaloid, solasonine, sterolin
(sitosterol-D glucoside), protein, lemak, dan mineral. Buah rimbang juga
mengandung asam fenolat (asam klorogenat, asam kafeat, dan asam ferulat) yang
merupakan senyawa fenolik. Selain itu, buah rimbang juga mengandung senyawa
antioksidan berupa karotenoid. Adanya kandungan tersebut, maka buah rimbang
memiliki fungsi sebagai antioksidan.
Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan memformulasikan ekstrak buah rimbang dalam
bentuk sediaan krim dengan tipe emulsi minyak dalam air dan menguji daya antiaging kulit punggung tangan sukarelawan.
Metode: Serbuk buah rimbang diekstraksi secara perkolasi dengan pelarut etanol
80%. Perkolat yang diperoleh diuapkan dengan bantuan rotary evaporator ±500C
dan dipekatkan dengan freeze dryer -400C. Terhadap serbuk simplisia dilakukan
skrining fitokimia dan karakterisasi. Ekstrak buah rimbang diformulasi dalam
sediaan krim dengan konsentrasi 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, 10%. Selanjutnya sediaan krim
dievaluasi stabilitasnya dan diuji efektivitasnya pada kulit tangan sukarelawan
menggunakan alat skin analyzer. Pembuktian kemampuan sediaan anti-aging
meliputi beberapa parameter yaitu kadar air (moisture), kehalusan (evennes),
pori(pore), keriput (wrinkle), dan kedalaman keriput (wrinkle’s depth).

Hasil: Hasil skrining fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa serbuk simplisia buah
rimbang mengandung alkaloida, flavonoida, tanin, saponin, glikosida,
antarakuinon dan steroid/triterpenoid. Hasil karakterisasi simplisia diperoleh
kadar air (3,9%), kadar sari larut air (12,87%), kadar sari larut etanol (16,4%),
kadar abu total (5,1%) dan kadar abu yang tidak larut asam (0,43%). Hasil
evaluasi krim EEBR stabil dalam penyimpanan 90 hari pada suhu kamar.
Pemeriksaan homogenitas sediaan krim menunjukkan krim homogen, pH sediaan
krim diperoleh
nilai 5,4-5,7. Hasil pemeriksaan sediaan krim EEBR
menunjukkan efektivitasnya sebagai anti-aging yang baik setelah perawatan 4
minggu. Konsentrasi 10% krim ekstrak buah rimbang memberikan efek lebih
cepat dibandingkan dengan konsentrasi lain.
Kesimpulan: Ekstrak buah rimbang dapat diformulasikan dalam bentuk sediaan
krim dan memberikan efek sebagai anti-aging.

FORMULATION OF TURKEY BERRY FRUIT (Solanum torvum Sw.)
EXTRACT CREAM PREPARATION AS ANTI-AGING
Abstract
Background: Turkey berry fruit contains a variety of vitamins, such as vitamin
A, vitamin B1, and vitamin C, glucoalcaloid, solasonine, sterolin (D-sitosterol
glucoside), proteins, fats and minerals. The fruit also contains fenolic acid
(clorogenic acid, kafeic acid, and ferulic acid) which is a phenolic. In addition,
turkey berry fruit also contains antioxidant compounds such as carotenoids.
Because the presence of the bioactive components in turkey berry fruit, so it can
function as antioxidants.
Objective: The purpose of this research was to formulate turkey berry fruit
extract into a cream preparation of oil in water emulsion type as anti-aging and
tested its effectiveness its on the back hand skin of volunteers.
Method: Turkey berry fruit was extracted by percolation using ethanol 80%.
Percolat was concentrated by rotary evaporator at ±500C and dried with a freeze
dryer -400C. Simplicia was screened phytochemically and characterized. Turkey
berry fruit extract was made into cream preparations with a concentration of 2.5%,
5%, 7.5%, 10%. Cream was evaluated on its stability and effectiveness by testing
on the skin of back hand of volunteers using skin analyzer. Anti-aging capability
includes several parameters: moisture, evennes, pore, wrinkles, and depth of

wrinkles.
Results: Phytochemical screening result showed that the simplicia of turkey berry
fruit contained alcaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, glycosides, antraquinon
and steroids/triterpenoid. The result of simplicia characterization were water
content (3.9%), water soluble extract content (12.87%), content of ethanol soluble
extract (16.4%), total ash content (5.1%) and ash content that was not soluble in
acid (0.43%). Result of evaluation showed that it was stable in storage for 90 days
at room temperature. Homogeneity test towards cream preparations showed a
homogeneous cream, cream preparations obtained pH 5.4-5.7. Turkey berry fruit
examination result showed its effectiveness as an anti-aging good after 4 weeks of
treatment. Concentration of 10% cream turkey berry gave faster anti-aging
activity than other concentrations.
Conclusion: Turkey berry fruit extracts can be formulated into cream preparation
and gives anti-aging activity.
