Observation in this research was conducted during the teaching reading by implementing Jigsaw IV technique in the classroom. The observation was done by the teacher in the first meeting and by the researcher in the second meeting. The result of the observation was used to decide whether or not the students were active in the teaching learning process. The observation was done twice in the cycle by considering the indicators in the checklist of the observation guide. Evaluation that was done in this research was process evaluation and product evaluation. The process evaluation had a purpose to observe the students’ participation during the teaching learning process of reading by implementing Jigsaw IV Technique. Meanwhile, the product evaluation had a purpose to find out the students’ improvement of reading comprehension achievement in comprehending the text. This classroom action research was considered successful if 75 of the students were actively involved in the teaching learning process and 75 of the students gained the score of ≥70 in reading comprehension test.
