should do is related to the positive bond between her and her mother. This is based on

CHAPTER V CONCLUSION
According to Freud, mother is the child’s primary love object and the parent most responsible for its optimal development 1963: 129. Therefore, the bond
between a mother and her child is special. A mother has significant roles in forming her children’s attitudes and characterizations, especially daughters. This thesis uses
Rodrigo Garcia’s Mother and Child screenplay to elaborately study some particular effects of the bonds between mothers and the daughters toward the daughters.
Each character in Rodrigo Garcia’s Mother and Child has different kinds of bonds with their mothers. Each character is affected by the bond with their mothers.
Thus, this thesis discusses each effect of the mother – daughter bond toward each
character in the screenplay. The first character is Karen. Karen has a difficult bond with Nora, her mother.
