development and English teaching. The questionnaire comprised 14 closed-ended questions and 3 open-
ended questions related to the experts‟ opinion about the designed product. The closed-ended questions referred to the suitability of the
materials with the set standards of competence and basic competences BSNP, 2006, the principles of materials development Tomlinson 1998, Offord-Gray
and Aldred 1998, Graves 2000, and Crawford 2002, and CALL pedagogical aspects Egbert Hanson-Smith, 2007.

The second questionnaire was delivered to two IT practitioners. It consisted of 6 close-ended questions and 3 open-ended questions. The closed-
ended questions aimed to know whether the designed product, especially the PowerPoint presentation, has met the characteristics of a well-designed software
as proposed by Boling and Soo 1999. The last three questions required the participants to share their general opinion related to the product as well as the
strengths and weaknesses. As the IT practitioners do not speak English, the questionnaire was written in the Indonesian language. It aimed to help them
understand the points in the questionnaire easily. PLAGIAT MERUPAKAN TINDAKAN TIDAK TERPUJI
The quantitative data, which were the data from the closed-ended questions from the questionnaires, were analyzed by measuring the central
tendency mean of each item. The value of the mean determined the category of the materials. The researcher used a scaling technique which was the Likert scale
for the questionnaires. The five-level Likert scale was used to find out the experts‟
feelings related to the designed product. The scoring in this research runs from: 1 or SD if you strongly disagree with the statement.
2 or D if you disagree with the statement. 3 or U if you uncertain or doubt with the statement.
4 or A if you agree with the statement. 5 or SA if you strongly agree with the statement.
In classifying the category of the mean, the researcher referred to the theory proposed by Suharto 2006. According to Suharto 2006, there are five
categories namely very good, good, fair, poor, and very poor. In this study, the researcher believes if an item is in the very good category, it does not need any
revision. If it is in the good category, it is optional for the researcher to have any revision or not. Meanwhile, if an item is categorized into fair, it means that more
exploration related to the item is necessary. In addition, if it is categorized into poor, revision is recommended. Lastly, if an item is in the very poor category,
revision is highly needed
