In GCS, vocabulary teaching is not mentioned. Therefore, vocabulary cannot be taught separately from English skills, in this case, reading and writing.
Seeing the content of the CS and BC, students are expected to respond to and express meanings in written texts. In order to do the actions, students need a lot of
vocabulary and this is the role of vocabulary in reading and writing. After stating the general purposes, the writer then mentioned the learning
topics. The learning topics are taken from the stated general purposes or BCs. Those topics are banners, posters, brochures, reports, narratives, and analytical
expositions. The detailed topics can be seen in the following table.

After stating the goals, general purposes, and learning topics, the writer then mentioned the learning indicators used to measure whether or not the
competences had been mastered by the students. Learning indicators define the performance the students should be able to demonstrate in order to be categorized
as ‘having achieved’ the basic competences. Indicators can also be used to construct tests to measure students’ progress as well as the guidelines to select the
