I have studied about how to teach at a bilingual class.” Respondent 3, Appendix E According to Altman, Valenzi, and Hodgetts 1985, perception can be influenced by past experiences. It could be seen from the interview result of this section that all of the Science teachers in SMP Joannes Bosco had experience related to bilingual education in order to gain more description regarding bilingual education. 2 Science Teachers’ Expectations Besides the past experiences, Altman, Valenzi, and Hodgetts 1985 describe that an expectation is one of the factors that can affect a perception. In order to find out Scienc e teachers’ expectations on bilingual education, the researcher asked about Science teach ers’ opinions on the importance of the bilingual education implementation in every school in Indonesia and the importance of bilingual education for the stude nts’ future.
