E. The Comprehensive Teaching Technique CTT

This research aimed to design a scientific teaching technique which will help the students of ELTI – Gramedia English Course Semarang to comprehend grammar and to find out whether the technique was effective or not in improving the students’ grammar comprehension. A good and suitable model has to fit some criteria such as: a present motivational set to generate interests and establish relevance, b provide structure overviewadvanced organizer for lessonlearning activity, c activate students’ prior knowledgebridges learning from one lessonlearning activity to the next, d specifies major objectiveslearning outcomes for lessonlearning activity, e provides clear, concise instructions, directions, and explanations to guide student learning, f utilizes multiple and varied teachinglearning models e.g. multiple intelligences, experientialdiscovery learning, whole language, integratedinterdisciplinary studies, independent study, direct instruction, instructional strategies e.g. discussion, learning center simulation, human and materials resources e.g. books, videotapes, g THE USE... In gaining the goals stated above, a scientific model for a grammar teaching was designed known as Comprehensive Teaching Technique CTT as the combination of various teaching methods namely: Audio-lingualism, Task Based Learning, Suggestopedia, Community Language Learning, and Total Physical Response.
