One of public telecommunication tools, television had owner function also in public information,
education and entertainment. One of competition had to win is fully competition for audience in
entertainment. One of entertainment source could make one condition that showed enjoyable and
non disturbing in watching, because the television was friendly by house situation and the
audience activities in everyday. The house wives which their busies in houses needed
entertainment, one of them watching “ hole in the wall Mom “. All of player in this program are
mothers, so until make the interesting for house wives to show.
The objective problem : How much of the intention the motivation of house wives on watching “
hole in the wall Mom on RCTI “. The aim of this research, to know How much of the intention
the motivation of house wives on watching “ hole in the wall Mom on RCTI “
The theory which used in this research are using theory and gratification. In this theories describe
about kind of motivations person in choosing of public media of information equipments, those
are; motivation for getting the knowledge, entertainment, spending of free time and playing
equipments. The type of research is explanative of research by doing survey. The collectives of
data are : 1. Questioning 2. Documentation . Data analysis is quantative, the reported of research
that analysed by numeral or procently. The aim of descriptive research for systematically,
factually and accurately on the facts and population or the area.
On the reported of research had done which showed the problem, although it can conclude are :
On the based naturally of society whose live in complex houses are standart on high in finance
which a lot of them needed calmly condition and interesting in their lives, for that, All of them
interested by kind of entertainments for enjoyable in their lives, one of the example watching “
hole in the wall Mom showed on RCTI program. Many problems observed on this research,
when the motivation showed on many resources, those are : getting on neighbours, family selves
which showed that program of entertainment.
Some motivation categories are (1) Motivation as knowledge in about 2,5 include in the low
categories, ( 2) Motivation as entertainment in about 3,4ninclude in high categories, ( 3)
Motivation in spare time in about 3,3 include in high categories, (4) Motivation as a play tool in
about 3,1 include in high categories. Based on the fourth categories, the higest categories is
entertainment which count in about 3,4.
