MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS DAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA

GUNUNGSARI TAHUN PELAJARAN 2013/2014

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya aktivitas dan prestasi belajar
matematika siswa kelas VIII G SMPN 1 Gunungsari. Hal ini disebabkan metode yang
digunakan guru mata pelajaran matematika masih menggunakan metode ceramah, tanya
jawab dan media pembelajaran yang monoton sehingga siswa merasa bosan dan kurang
termotivasi dalam belajar.Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, guru hendaknya memilih
model, metode maupun strategi pembelajaran yang dapat memotivasi siswa dan melibatkan
siswa secara aktif
sehingga memperoleh prestasi belajar yang lebih baik. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan
guru adalah dengan menerapkan strategi pembelajaran Index Card Match. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1
Gunungsari melalui penerapan strategi Index Card Match yang optimal pada materi pokok
“Fungsi” tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) ini dilaksanakan dalam
dua siklus. Indikator keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini adalah aktivitas belajar siswa minimal
berkategori tinggi danketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal minimal 70% serta Mrata-rata
nilai siswa minimal 71 setelah diterapkan strategi Index Card Match. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas belajar siswa untuk pertemuan I dan II pada siklus I, siklus II
berturut-turut adalah 8,00 (cukup) dan 10,01 (cukup), 13,00 (tinggi). Sedangkan rata-rata
nilai kelas pada siklus I dan siklus II berturut-turut adalah 75,00 dan 80,00 dengan urutan
ketuntasan klasikal 68% dan 84%. Dengan melihat keseluruhan hasil penelitian dapat
disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi Index Card Match dapat meninngkatkan aktivitas dan
prestasi belajar siswa pada materi pokok “Fungsi” kelas VIII G SMPN 1 Gunungsari tahun
pelajaran 2013/2014.

ABSTRACT
This research is based on the low of activity and learning achievement of students of
class VIII G SMPN 1 Gunungsari. This is caused by methode used of math teachers still use
the extracurricular lecture, discuss and learning media monotonous so that students feel bored
and less motivated in learning activity. To solve this problem, the teacher should choose
learning model, methode and also strategies to motivate students and involve students
actively so as to obtain better learning achievements. One of effort that teacher can do is
implement the learning strategy of Index Card Match. The aim research is to anhancment
learning activity and achievement students of class VIII SMP 1 Gunungsari by weany of
implementation of strategy Index Card Match that optimal in the subject matter "Function" of
the school year 2013/2014. Classroom action research (CAR ) was conducted in two cycles.
Indicators of success in this research is minimal learning activity of student include in high
category and complete of student learning in the classical minimum of 70 % and the average
value of at least 71 after the implemented strategy Index Card Match. The research result
show that students' learning activities for the meetings I and II in the first cycle , the second
cycle in a row is 8,00 (enough) and 10,01 (enough), 13,00 (high). While the average value of
the class in the first cycle and second cycle are 75,00 and 80,00 with classical completeness
order of 68% and 84 %. By looking at the overall results of this research concluded that the
implementation of strategy to Index Card Match at enhancing the activity and student
achievement in the subject matter " Function " class VIII G SMPN 1 Gunungsari academic
year 2013/2014 .
