FORMULASI DAN EVALUASI MASKER GEL PEEL OFF
EKSTRAK ETANOL BUAH ANDALIMAN
(Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) SEBAGAI ANTI-AGING
ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang: Buah andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) merupakan
jenis rempah yang digunakan sebagai bumbu masakan biasanya tumbuh secara
liar mengandung senyawa polifenol dan flavonoid yang dapat dijadikan sebagai
sumber antioksidan alami untuk mencegah penuaan dini.
Tujuan penelitian: Memformulasi dan mengevaluasi masker gel peeloff dari
ekstrak etanol buah andaliman sebagai anti aging.
Metode: Ekstrak etanol buah andaliman dibuat dengan cara perkolasi kemudiaan
diformulasikan dalam sediaan masker gel peeloff dengan konsentrasi 1%, 3% dan
5%. Evaluasi terhadap sediaan masker gel peeloff meliputi pemeriksaan
homogenitas, pengamatan stabilitas sediaan (perubahan warna, bau, pH,
viskositas, waktu sediaan mengering di kulit) selama penyimpanan 12 minggu, uji
iritasi, uji kesukaan, dan uji efektivitas anti aging menggunakan alat skin analyzer
terhadap kulit wajah.
Hasil: Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol buah andaliman dapat
diformulasikan sebagai masker gel peeloff. Sediaan homogen, stabil dalam
penyimpanan, tidak mengiritasi kulit, sediaan dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 3%
paling banyak disukai, dan hasil uji ektivifitas anti aging menunjukkan bahwa
sediaan masker gel peeloff dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 5% paling efektif terhadap
pemulihan kondisi kulit selama empat minggu perawatan.
Kesimpulan: Ekstrak etanol buah andaliman dapat diformulasikan dalam sediaan
masker gel peeloff dan sediaan dengan ekstrak 5% menunjukkan efektivitas anti
aging yang terbaik.

ABSTRACT
Background: Andaliman fruit (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) is a type of
herb that is used as a cooking spice usually grows wild that contains polyphenol
and flavonoid that can be used as natural source of antioxidants to prevent
premature aging.
Purpose: Toformulate and evaluate the peel off gel mask andaliman fruit ethanol
extract as anti-aging.
Methods: Andaliman fruit ethanol extract was prepared by percolation then
formulated in peel off gel mask with concentration 1%, 3% and 5%. Evaluation of
the peel off gel mask preparation included examining homogeneity, stability
observations consisting of (color change, odor, pH, viscosity and time to dry out
the skin) during 12 weeks of storage, irritation test, hedonic test, and effectiveness
test of anti aging on the face of using the skin analyzer.
Results: This research showed that the andaliman fruit ethanol extract could be
formulated as a peel off gel mask. The preparation of homogeneous, stable in
storage, did not irritate the skin, preparation with extract 3% was the most
preferred and test result showed that the effectiveness of anti-aging the peel off
gel mask with the 5% extract was the most effective for the recovery of the skin
condition during the four weeks of treatment.
Conclusion: Andaliman fruit ethanol extract can be formulated as peel off gel
mask and preparations containing extract 5% showed the best anti aging effect.
