ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini mencoba menguraikan dan menganalisis fakta-fakta tentang
Peran Dprd Kota Medan Terhadap Pengawasan Kinerja Pemerintahan Kota Medan
Dalam Bidang Pendidikan Tahun 2012. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk
mendeskripsikan bagaimana mekanisme DPRD Kota Medan dalam mengawasi
kinerja pemerintah Kota Medan dalam bidang pendidikan tahun 2012. Serta
menjelaskan hambatan dan solusi terhadap penerapan kinerja pemerintah Kota
Medan tahun 2012. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini bersumber dari
wawancara, buku-buku, dokumen DPRD Kota Medan dan internet. Metode analisis
yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Fungsi pengawasan DPRD sangat
penting dalam proses kinerja pemerintahan daerah khususnya di kota Medan. Melalui
pengawasan dewan, eksekutif sebagai pelaksana kebijakan akan terhindar dari
berbagai penyimpangan dan penyelewengan, dari hasil pengawasan dewan akan
diambil tindakan penyempurnaan memperbaiki pelaksanaan kebijakan tersebut.
pengawasan DPRD akan dapat memberikan perlindungan yang cukup efektif terhadap
eksekutif dalam menjalankan tata laksana birokrasi pemerintahan secara optimal.

This study tried to describe and analyze the facts about the role of the DPRD
Medan Against Performance Monitoring Medan City Government in the Field of
