Besides giving evaluation, the participants also gave their opinions and suggestions toward
the designed materials. The participants’ opinions and suggestions based on the evaluation-questionnaire were described as follows.
1. The designed materials were easy to use. The instructions given in each
part were already understandable for both the teacher and the students to use but the instructions sometimes were too long to read. Shortened the
instructions were recommended. 2.
The contents of the materials mostly were suitable for the eight grade student of junior high school but there were few materials which not.
Therefore, some changes on the materials were recommended.
47 3.
The materials were too easy in term of difficulties. The level of difficulties should be increased especially in the reading tasks.
4. In group work, it is better that the members should not always the same for
each meeting or task, in this case two people or in pairs. The number of members should be based on the level of difficulties of the materials.
5. In pre-task section, it is better that the students were given some guiding
questions on what they are going to learn and not just given pictures and only being asked to discuss about the pictures.
6. In the lesson plan, it was better to include time allocation for each part so
it will help the teacher to get the view on how long should the activities took place. The lesson plan was also very teacher-centered, it was better to
change it into student-centered although not all of them. 7.
The layout of the designed materials was too crowded. There was a feeling that a lot of things were inserted in the materials. But it only made the
materials looked too crowded which decrease peoples’ interest to use it. It was better to reduce the content and chose the important ones.
